I have purchased TWO Jayco Pinnacles from them in the last five years and my last one had lots of defects that were not fixed on PDI. I tried for almost two years to get satisfaction but they did not reimburse me the labour charges for a blind that was defective and I paid for. The dealership in Des Moines changes service personnel more than I change my socks and although I was promised a reimbursement cheque they lied to me and never did send one. I tried to contact Don Strollo the bigshot president but he never did get back to me. BUYER BEWARE.Re: 5th wheel lengthThanks to all replies and especially the humerous ones we all need a good laugh occasionally. I will refer to my units length as approximately 41 feet but when I get it washed and waxed I will show them on the rig it is a model 36 so I get the reduced rate being a frugal Scott.Re: Battery voltage drops!!!Thanks to all replies. The batteries are the T125 Trojans which I think will give me 240 ah. Originally we had 2 12v group 24 c which did not have enough to power a flashlight overnite. The factory said that they recommended at least group 27c batteries surprize no room I could not fit them because of lack of space thats why I got the Trojans. I guess that maybe one night dry camping I just might get by with running my Onan genny 'till mdnight peeing everyone off that is within 50 yards.Battery voltage drops!!!I have a 2015 Jayco Pinnacle with a residential fridge. When I am plugged in to shore power and have fully charged batteries (two of the biggest Trojan 6 volts that I could fit in the battery cases) my voltage readout is 13.2/ 13.3. After driving for 4 to 5 hours my readout has dropped to around 12.3 to 12.4 volts. I thought that it should at least maintain my full charge running off my truck charging system. When we then dry camp overnight my LOW voltage alarm starts to beep usually around 5 am and of course wakes me up. I did not spend 100K to have a very fancy alarm clock. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks .Re: Surge protectorHi to all, I did not want to get into a war about which is better or cheaper or which has this or that , all I wanted to do was let people know that I had bought one after years of procrastination. The price for a 50. AMP of $270.00 seemed to be a no brainer as to the "suggested retail"price of $450.000 so I splurged. Have a Great Day and remember to be nice to everyone!!!!!!!!!!Re: Surge protectorThey are on sale until 25th jan @CW.Re: Surge protectorIt was a Surge Guard.Surge protectorJust as a heads up to all.Just bought a 50amp surge protector at Camping World for $270.00. on sale. Saved $180.00 off regular price. I have been looking at buying one for some time but did not want to spend $450.00. I am a happy camper.Re: Retiring 2015 - 5'er Advice/Experience SolicitedI will throw in my experiences for what they are worth. Retired in 2005 and pretty well full timed (maybe nine months of the year) since. Bought a Jayco Designer 36' with all the bells and whistles and had great service from it, sold in 2007 on a whim, Bought a F/R Day Dreamer, I won't go in to details but it was terrible with MAJOR safety problems with disc brake and suspension problems. Factory did a terrible fix when I finally had to take it back there. I order my units with all options and would suggest you do the same when you purchase, remember you are negotiating a discount on the whole package initionally which is much cheaper than adding options later. Since 2010 I have purchased a Designer and two Pinnacles and the way that Jayco has treated me as a customer is fantastic that is why I will consider them whenever I buy. Please remember that you will run into certain problems whatever you buy it is impossible to produce a product that you tow on every type of road conditions without having to "fix" something that goes wrong. I wish you luck on your purchase and happy camping I know you will enjoy it.Re: Burning out light bulbsHad the same problem in my 2012 Pinnacle 36 REQS. Probably changed four or five bulbs and did check out base, voltage etc but never did correct it. Had similar problem in roof pod lights and was advised that the halogen bulbs created too much heat. Got rid of the problems though ------ I just bought a 2015 Pinnacle 36 REQS, really nice unit. Now I have to correct some of my new problems.
