That's the reason I put the fuel shut off valve on there so I could run it empty like I do on my dirt bikes and things that don't get used daily> But when I saw how much came out when I removed the float bowl I'm thinking there's still enough in there to gum up the altitude needle at the bottomRe: Onan 4000 Microliite Carb Spewing Gas from Air FilterThanks guys I pulled the float bowl, the float was fine and not full of gas I didn't like how far up the float traveled so I swapped it with my original Onan float and needle. Now it shuts off the fuel to the carb when the float is about level I started it a couple times and didn't notice any excess fuel spraying out So I got it running on a full load right now and going to let it run 30 minutes Crossing my fingersRe: Onan 4000 Microliite Carb Spewing Gas from Air Filter CloudDriver wrote: Sounds like a carburetor float with a leak. The float fills with gas and sinks, allowing the float valve to stay open resulting in the carburetor bowl overflowing. That makes sense right thereOnan 4000 Microliite Carb Spewing Gas from Air FilterHi everybody I had a surging issue with my Onan 4000 Microlite (800 hours) I would clean the carb and sometimes it would fix it and sometimes not So I bought a new Amazon Carb, Fuel Pump and Fuel Filter I put it all in and the generator started right up and ran perfect. Then I turned it off after a bit to see if it would restart and it wouldn't. I was troubleshooting and removed the air filter and gas poured out of it and when I cranked it over gas was spraying out of the filter side of the carb I had put in a fuel cut off valve during the install so I shut off the fuel and tried again and the genny started right up I opened up the fuel valve and it kept running perfect but when I shut it off and tried to restart, gas was spraying out of the intake again and it wouldn't start unless I shutoff the fuel valve. Do you think the fuel pump is pumping too much fuel or do you think the carb is defective? Thanks!Re: Power Requirement for Satellite Receiver 1L243 wrote: I would add one more thing I would get a battery volt monitor and don't rely on the battery monitor in the coach (unless you have one that has a numerical readout) I use this one it has a low voltage alarm. If you going to be using the furnace at the same time you will suck those batteries dry before you know it. https://www.amazon.com/VoltMinder-Digital-Volt-Meter-Batteries/dp/B001IQ1XW4 I have 2 6v batteries, how low can I let them get before I fire up the generator?Re: Power Requirement for Satellite Receiver nayther wrote: Steve92004 wrote: Thanks guys I went out and plugged a cheap 300 watt inverter into the 12v receptacle and plugged the tv into it with the original power supply. It ran fine off the inverter and I have a 5 volt usb video player running off the tv's usb port running fine as well I'll try the dish receiver when it gets delivered tomorrow Hopefuly it'll all run together off that little inverter The inverter fan is a little noisy but I can live with that Now you got me thinking about a soundbar lol The coax connector behind the TV says satellite ready, so I should be able to hook the dish to the outside outlet and then run a short length to the receiver yes? I only have 2 six volt batteries and I'm hoping to not have to use the generator a bunch, I'm taking off for five days of dry camping at Glamis next week Be nice if everything works well You should be fine with the 2 6 volts, I have same setup with 300 watt inverter but I put the inverter next to the batteries and ran romex to the outlet for the T.V. and receiver, cooling fan doesn't bother me and 12v wires are short, I have a switch to turn it on/off. My TV is only 26" as that's all the space I have but it works great. I do run my generator twice a day for an hour or so, coffee in the AM and while cooking in PM. Seems to keep it all working just fine. Tailgater dish and Dish V211k receiver. That's smart, I think I'll do the same Thanks!Re: Power Requirement for Satellite ReceiverThanks guys I went out and plugged a cheap 300 watt inverter into the 12v receptacle and plugged the tv into it with the original power supply. I'm hoping a small one plugged into the existing receptacle will workRe: Need a 50 gallon Weekend Warrior fresh water tank time2roll wrote: Black ABS can be repaired with PlastiMend. Need to lightly sand the surface to clean/prepare and the sealant/solvent melts into and combines with the existing ABS same as joining waste pipes. For large issues or to provide support with a flex point that broke you may need to add some sheet ABS to strengthen the area. I have used PlastiMend on a corner flex point that was a bit thin and ripped from the fill/empty/fill cycle. Has held over five years. This after using several other 'solutions'. http://www.plasti-mend.com/ They also sell on amazon Thanks I think I'll try that Mine is on a corner like you said I guess I'll sand off all the repairs I already tried and give that a shot Thanks for the help on the converter wiring also, worked like a champRe: Need a 50 gallon Weekend Warrior fresh water tankThanks, the tank is black I called Ronco in Tustin and they have them for $514 I've tried a lot of fixes including plastic welding, water weld adhesive sealers, even 15 coats of flex seal the only thing that remotely worked was some thick gooey duct sealer an AC friend gave me to try. There is a guy near me that repairs tanks, do you think it could be repaired after all that stuff I applied to it?
