If not leaking, you should have a thermistor attached to the coils to detect a freezing condition and then turn off the compressor until the coils thaw then resets to turn the compressor back on. If the thermistor is not working, it could cause the unit to freeze up.Re: roof ladder???I've had both, with and without the ladder. With the ladder has been much, much better for me. Especially when it comes time to put the cover on.Re: AC problem? With a bad motor start cap you should still hear a change in the sound of the unit when the motor tries to start. If nothing is happening, it may be the compressor relay. You should have schematics that will show which wires to jump out to actuate this relay.Re: topsail vs henderson beachI would bet most don't read the rules.Re: topsail vs henderson beach Joe in Texas wrote: For the cable tv at Topsail......DO I NEED A RECEIVER BOX ? Is there a additional charge for the cable service ? We are there mid July for 10 days. Thanks We were there all last week. Cable hooks right up to your trailer connection, included in the price of the lot. You'll love Topsail, it's a very beautiful campground that is maintained meticulously. FYI, don't tie anything around any trees or drive any thing into the ground, you will be fined.Re: Electrical IssuesSince it is the lights and the refrigerator and they are most likely not receiving 12V from the same fuse/circuit, the only thing they have in common would be the ground bus.Re: Power Awning? With the power awning, it only takes a few seconds to deploy and retract. That being the case, everytime we leave the camper for more than 30 minutes, we simply retract the awning. No chance of it being ripped off the camper by wind. There is practically no effort to do this, even if you have to do it multiple times a day. Even with tying down the manual awning, there is still a chance of it being damaged by wind if strong enough. There is no way I'd go back to a manual awning.Re: Jayco Jayflight - opinions from owners...?Been the owner of a Jayflight 26BHS G2 since February 2009. Only issue I've had (so far) is the converter went out after 1 year and was replace by warranty for free. I like the fact that the roof is not flat. My previous camper had a flat roof and I had water intrusion issues around the A/C unit. The Jayflight has a nice slight curvature to the roof that tends to shed excess water. Of course it's still not leak proof, but with eternabonding all the seams and penetrations, I've greatly reduced the probability of it leaking. All in all, I've been very satisfied with my unit.Re: Cover or not to coverYour roof and the paint/decals will last longer if protected from UV rays. I don't recommend using a tarp as it won't breath and is not soft like covers designed to be used on campers. Many people think that a cover is to keep the rain off, however, UV light is the primary reason for a cover.Re: Electrical IssuesIn my experience (I&C Tech for 15 years), an intermittent issue like yours will almost always be a loose/bad connection. I would start looking at the lugged connections to the refrigerator control board and work back to the converter.
