I have no problems in the hills of Minnesota. Haven't towed in mountains, but for a gasser I am impressed with this truck. Use tow haul and pull at 60-62 mph and get 9.0 to 9.5 mpg.when not bucking winds.Re: Jayco eagle HT 27.5 RLTSWE ORDERED IN A 2016 JAYCO EAGLE HT 27.5 RLTS AND PICKED IT UP IN APRIL. WE HAVE CAMPED IN IT 30 NIGHTS SO FAR. THIS IS A NICE 5VER FOR TWO PEOPLE. SO FAR WE ARE PLEASED WITH IT. HAVING TWO TT BEFORE THIS THE 5VER TOWS SO MUCH NICER. I DID THE MAXXIS TIRE/WHEEL UPGRADE AS MY TRUCK STANDS TALL. I ALSO USE THE REVOLUTION HITCH WITH MY SHORT BED TRUCK. THE ELECTRIC FIREPLACE IS ALSO A NICE OPTION AND WORKS WELL. THE SWIVAL/RECLINER CHAIRS ARE VERY COMFORTABLE, BUT SOMEWHAT OF A PAIN TO POSITION TO BRING THE SLIDES IN. I'VE HAD SOME MINOR WARRANTY WORK DONE WHICH I'VE HAD TO DO WITH EVERY BRAND I'VE OWNED OVER THE YEARS. IT ALSO COMES WITH A RECEIVOR HITCH SO ITS GREAT TO PULL MY BOAT BEHIND. SO FAR, SO GOOD, TIME WILL TELL, BUT I THINK WE'LL BE PLEASED WITH THIS UNIT.Re: merry christmasHave a very Merry Christmas all!Re: Diesel "loudness"? Hondavalk wrote: I kinda miss the "Bad A$$" sound of the old diesels. :C:B Not when one of those old Dodge's cranks up at 5 in the morning at the campground and lets it run till they get ready to hook up!Re: Chevy Trailblazer, good tow vehical?i towed a 19ft tandem axle Hybred with a 2004 GMC Envoy for two years ( same as trailblazer). The I6 had plenty of power and had the tow pkg., but it made me nervous as the heat gauge always run on the high side when towing. My friend had the v8 in his Envoy and was very unhappy with his towing experience. A nice vehicle for everyday use. My wife loved it. Traded for a Ford f150 and never looked back.Re: F250 6.2L 3.73 4x4 Super Crew MPGOn my 6.2 I get 9 to 11 towing a 6200# TT at 60 mph. around town 13. Hiway 15-16 at freeway speeds. Hard to keep foot out of it! Enjoy driving this truck.Re: How do you like your tailgate ladder?I have the Amp Research Bedstep. I really like it. Had it on my F150 and now my F250. Can use it even when i have my trailer hooked behind. It sits neatly under the left corner of the bumper. If you're short legged like me, Chevy's notch in the bumper doesn't work too great on a tall truck, but its a good idea on say a half ton Silverado.Re: 2016 F-250 with a 6.2Cant' speak for 5th wheel experience, but plan on moving up to a 5vr in Spring. Presently pull a 26' TT and its no challenge for the 6.2. This is a great engine and a lot of good things said about it on the forums. With the camper pkg you get the overload springs. Mileage towing is as good as my former F150.Re: F-250/F-350? Bedlam wrote: 2" shorter rear axle block on F250 verses F350. My 2015 250 with camper pkg. and snow plow prep has the 4 in. blocks over the rear axle just like the 350's and sits very high. the 2013 like Shepstone has with same pkg.'s used the 2in. blocks, thus sitting lower.Re: Help me decide MFL wrote: You could order a F150, that you could make work for towing that trailer, and might be better for non towing. Myself, I'd rather go with a truck that works great for towing, and still make a good daily driver. Take a new 250/2500 for a drive, I think you will enjoy it. Fuel use about the same towing, and a little more non towing, than a 150. My 250 is smooth on the highway, and good city streets. In the back country non towing, the ride is more harsh. Jerry went from 2010 f150 to 2015 f250 gasser. Same mileage towing my TT. Plenty of pay load. Have the ext. cab, fits in my car garage. if you didn't order the camper and plow prep it would also sit lower. I have those pkg."s. and it sits high. Short trips & hi way mileage is less, but the towing experience is a huge difference. Total yearly fuel bill difference would be worth the improved towing. fuel mileage can be decent if you keep your foot out of it, which I can't always do!
