We owned a 2010 PleasureWay Excel Ford E-350 van, which we no longer own, decided it was time for a newer model PW. We traveled extensively across country this past August and September. We were in Canada and stopped at a gas station to fill up. When we tried to start it again, it wouldn't start, would hardly turn over. After a few tries, it worked and we were on our way. Decided to stop at a Ford dealer and told them what happened, as it didn't happen after that. They suggested bad gas, so suggested we buy at a known brand station. Next time we filled up, same thing happened. By this time we were concerned, as we had a lot of wide open space to cover, with no stations in sight. So we scoured YouTube, found a guy who was leaving his gas cap off while starting up after getting gas, and it would start, and then screwed on his gas cap. That was good for awhile. Then we decided to really find out the cause, so we went to yet another Ford dealer, ran diagnostics, couldn't find a thing. Third time we went to a Ford dealer in Canada, they did diagnostics, found some problem with an evaporator sensor of some sort. They had the part overnighted to their dealership, we had it installed quickly, took at the most 1/2 hour in the morning and we were on our way, and we never had another problem with it. So it must have something to do with emissions of gas fumes, and perhaps yours is due to getting a generic brand replacement gas cap. We never had a problem with it after that.Re: Max4 class b rv possible scamDarn! I was excited that there was finally a Class B manufacturer that was building on the Ford Transit chassis! It sure did look legit to me. Guess I'll wait until I know for sure that a mainstream manufacturer is building on them. :(Re: MPG for class B modelsWe hardly ever go over 65 mph, perhaps that is why we have decent mileage. I don't think I'd want to go any faster than that anyway, never been a speed demon, I was born a "little ole lady"! :)Re: MPG for class B modelsWe have a Pleasure Way 2010 Excel TS model (V-8 and gasoline) and we average a full 16 mph on most trips. We also owned a 31 ft. Jayco Granite Ridge SS, which we loved, but didn't find ourselves using as much anymore, we were more "travelers" than campers, so we purchased the PW. We are very happy with the model's layout, and it is the wider body, as opposed to the PW Lexor. Those few inches seem to make a very comfortable difference in passing one another in the aisle. The transition from a 31 ft. C to a 20 ft. B is "exciting" at the very least, but once you realize how much you DON'T need to bring with you on trips, it makes the actual trip much more enjoyable. The Pleasure Way also makes the Plateau model, which is a Mercedes engine, and I know they certainly get more mpg than the gas, but I can't speak to the exact amount. PW also makes a gas model B+, or small C, 22 ft. which they introduced over a year ago, which has a full stand up shower. I think the Ford-350 van is being phased out very soon though.
