Run tire pressure according to manuf. guide lines. Never seen any one over tired ? All tho i have seen some bad blowouts and even rims brake, crack down the middle. If I have any idea I will overload mt rig I go with Toyo tires.Re: border crossing at TJThank you tally hoe.border crossing at TJWe uae to cross at TJ, then changed to farther east. After leaving customs you kept in the leaf lane to exit left Ensenada. Do you now sta in the right lane and exit right to get on the same highway ? At && yr, I am not as quick as before and need to have a plan in mind.Re: Used RVsIn my many years of rving. I have stayed away from M.H, and always used T.T. are 5th wheels. We camped with our 1 son in 16,24, foot T.T. it depends on your children, size, age, and temperament.boys, girls, are both? Of course the bigger tow the bigger the tow vehicle. If you go with a 4 door pickup and 30-35 foot TT, you have a long rig, hooked up are not.A 1/2 ton with tow special, will handle a 28 ' TT fairly well. Some have bunk beds and a large bed both.Re: Attacked on the highway: Rebuilding, lots of questions. In answer to your trailer and TV size. My wife and I have went many miles in a 1/2 ton ford, with a 22' 5th wheel.Including staying in it thru winters in northern New York state. Leading caravans in and out Mexico and Baja. Yes I have had 35' bumper pulls and 35' 5th wheels with slide out.Now the biggest we will have is a 24', you have a lot of choices, just shop wise.:) Good luck on your search.Re: Wanting to down size from fifth wheel to smaller TTI understand the downsize - we have went from a 35' 5th with slide out. to a 22 foot travel trailer but are back to a 24 foot trailer now - no problem with a 1/2 ton truck, and v/8 engine with tow package.Go to far down and you will not enjoy it, the 24 foot seems to be and ideal size. Good luck.Re: Near-freezing temperaturesI have spent the winter in my 22 foot 5th wheel, in upstate New York.I insulated and heat taped my incoming water line, my outgoing waste line and my holding tanks, under penned the trailer. And left the heater running full time, no trouble.Re: Cordless drill for scissor jacksAs opposed to using a battery drill, take a 12 volt drill remove the battery pak, solder in an ext cord put clamps on it, hook to your TV battery, No run down battery problem and plenty of power to do the job.Re: Looking for suggestionsThe van scares me - that many people and their EXTRA gear, towing much of a trailer will quickly over load the rear of the van.If you can limit the van to passenger's only ? Using a 15 foot are so trailer may work - depending on what you load your trailer with ? Be careful you are making a serious decision, that will affect your family and their safety.Travel tralers are for fun so choose carefully.Re: Seeking th perfect Couples Trailer - just me and my wife ...No one can tell you what is your best solution. My wife and I had 22 foot 5th wheel, queen bed up. that we used in leading RV caravans many places, it was just right for us and our monster yorkie pet.Now the best bet for a couple are single person is a 24 foot light weight. it gives you room for a decent bathroom, and A queen size bed.easy to pull and park, a 1/2 ton TV is plenty. I have never towed with a n suv so I can not comment on that need.
