I eventually replaced all the screws in the strips with stainless screws, applied caulk to them when i replaced them and made sure the screws were tightened sufficiently. end result, stopped all the water leaks.Re: Rhino liner roof install has anyone had oneanyone ever consider or use the product available from RV Roof man ? pretty good reviews, but expensive.https://www.facebook.com/The-Rv-Roof-Man-126655722849/Re: Eternabond on a four year old Kodiak Travel TrailerI used it on all vents and around the A/C. Also used 4" wide strip along the top of my rolled up awning to cut down the effect of UV on the awning fabric.Re: Toilet Overflowyou sure your fresh water supply isn't hooked to a black tank rinser instead of fresh water inlet ?Re: Propane leak?this happened to our neighbor...on a seasonal site and lost propane. turns out squirrels gnawed through the supply hoses behind the tanks causing the tanks to lose propane.Re: caulking question weathershak wrote: If you plan on keeping your aluminum trailer for several years, it is a good idea to caulk all the screws. The rubber strip that hides all the screw is not water tight. I took all my screws out one at a time and dipped the screws into a tube of 5200 (the part that threads into the wood stud) and hand tightened them back in. I was amazed how rusty the screws were after the trailer being only 1 years old. 3 years later, everything was good and it was a bonus and helped with the sale when I showed the buyer that all the screws were sealed with caulk. it's especially important to do that to all the screws that hold the raingutter strip along the edge of the roof. when I replaced all the screws on mine,I was surprised that not only were most of them rusty, they were also loose, not snugged in tight. not only did I dip the screws in caulk,I replaced the old screws with stainless steel.Re: clogged toilet Vet Man wrote: Are you sure the tank is not full? that would be my question. my neighbor has a camper that has 3 tanks, but he thought he only had 2 . when the kitchen sink and the vanity backed up,he assumed there was a clog. after several attempts with an auger and a bottle of drain cleaner, he discovered there was 3 tanks and one was full (he is a new owner of this trailer) outside ,the 2 drains were marked but the gray tank was not. opened the 3rd handle and the tank drained....end of problem.Re: Mice mysteryfor those that use expanding foam, there is now a "rodent proof" that is supposed to deter mice from gnawing through it. I got mine at HD. http://www.homedepot.com/p/GREAT-STUFF-16-oz-Pestblock-Insulating-Foam-Sealant-11034540/203282346Re: This leak is UNBELEIVABLEwhen you pulled the rubber strip off the gutter rail, did you check to see that all the screws were tight ? the leak i had on my rockwood ultimately was found to be wicking into the screw holes behind the gutter rail.when I checked the screws,i could almost tighten them a full turn. water seeped across the ceiling and actually dripped out of the A/C vents in the middle of the ceiling as well as running down inside the walls leaking out of the window and door frames. solution, removed all the screws in the rail on both sides of the trailer and replaced with SS screws dipped in Dicor caulk. I made sure that each screw was totally snugged when I put them back in....result,stopped the leaks completely !
