Then from there with my own family went to pop-up, travel trailer, class A motorhome, class C motorhome, and now a small travel trailer as empty nesters. Most of us on here started out rough camping but as we get older we appreciate today's RV campground comforts. But besides that I also have a trailer in the mountains at a 9000 acre atv park with no hookups and use a generator, solar power and collect rainwater, its an awesome place and the campground is 2 miles long and 1/2 mile wide so nobody is on top of each other, we enjoy both types of camping.Re: I'm surprised there's not more posts hereI tow a Coachmen Clipper 17bh with my 2016 Toyota 4Runner V6 and have absolutely no problem towing. I'm 60 and do not participate in Facebook. The old days were a lot better without all the electronic social media gadgets of today.Re: Who Loves their Coachmen ClipperI am looking to install 14" wheels with the Goodyear Endurance Tires, has anyone done this without any clearance problems?Re: TINY HOUSE THOUGHTS2 things I don't like about tiny houses is 1. most of the narrow stairs have no railing on the open side which is a disaster waiting to happen if you lose your balance and 2. the bedrooms in the loft without a decent size sky lite is just a fire trap when a fire breaks out, there is no emergency exit. At least RV's have fire exits when away from the exit door. Tiny houses are not built to code as far as fire egress and safety are concerned. I certainly would not want to be in the loft if there was a fire below and all you have is the toxic smoke that rises to the loft without a proper means to escape. I am sure when enough people start becoming french fries then proper building codes will be required for these tiny dwellings.Re: Home RV parkingI used 18 x 18 concrete step stones, easy to put down and easy to move. At the same time I installed a 4x4 post with electric, water and cable hookups and being my sewer-line was right along side the trailer, I installed a cleanout for sewer hookup and dump. Its nice being able to work on the trailer while plugged in and if family visits with their rv.Re: Who Loves their Coachmen ClipperWe purchased a Coachmen Clipper 17BH last year and could not be any happier. It has been a great easy to tow and set-up trailer. Has a lot going on inside for a small trailer with plenty of storage and this is after owning a class A and a class C. I have done a lot of mods to the trailer and enjoy doing it. My next one will be upgrading the tires to 14 or 15".Re: Problems found on a new trailerWhat azdryheat said, buy slightly used with most of the bugs worked out. Back in 2012 I bought a brand new class C and had 5 pages of problems, It went back to the factory 3 times after I spent 40 hours fixing all kinds of problems. The factory just puts band aids on it, after that I sold it. Never new again! I bought my Clipper slightly used and saved a bundle on money and problems. But no matter what you buy expect the unexpected!Re: Timbrens or SumoSprings? After much research I went with the Timbrens. Very satisfied with them and a great ride with no sag towing and I don't have to worry about blown airbags!Re: Help Me Pick A New Camper!Have a look a the Coachmen Clipper 17bh. It has a lot going on inside and we are very happy with ours. Your tow rating is the same as mine and I have no problem towing. Good Luck!Re: My opinion on slideoutsSlide-outs are great, what isn't great is the uneducated rv installers and the companies who hire them. I had one in my previous new MH back to the factory 4 times and it was never right, tore up the linoleum, came in crooked and leaked. Now I have no problems.
