One analyst estimated in August 2005 that US oil inventory levels suggested WTI crude prices should be around $25 a barrel, and not $60. That would mean today that at least $50 to $60 or more of today’s $115 a barrel price is due to pure hedge fund and financial institution speculation. However, given the unchanged equilibrium in global oil supply and demand over recent months amid the explosive rise in oil futures prices traded on Nymex and ICE exchanges in New York and London it is more likely that as much as 60% of the today oil price is pure speculation. We have been using the same amount of oil and blaming a giant and SUDDEN increase on traditional levels of demand is nothing BUT idiotic. You're welcome. Well said!!!!Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!someone said bomb Iran, and boo! wall street went nut's.If we all say that tommorow we will all drive 80mph for 100 miles, the price would spike on spectulation.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!Well be ready to be shafted more,Oil shot up to new records today.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here! wing_zealot wrote: kudos383 wrote: All the other comd's the usda and govt are involved in,they buy them have to keep them cool, etc.uncle sam is watching.Oil can be bought years in advance, never have to touch it or even see it,just every 30days resale it.But with Iraq now putting out oil,and more in the future, plus gov getting involved,I see oil takeing a big fall. Your explaination of how the commodities markets works is clearly way out in left field. Nice guess, but totally off base. You are obviously clueless as to how commodities trading works. Don't try to explain something you clearly know nothing about. Gee I own pork bellies, lots of them, but I sure don't have them in a refrigerator, actually, their still eating and pooping, and I don't even own the farm they are on, just the bellies. And the USDA doesn't do a thing, until your ready to butcher them for sale. Then all they do is test for contamination and inspect the belly, there is no watchdog. Read and learn, then learn some more, then investigate it your self, then put your own money into it and learn the hard way, then maybe you will be qualified to post about how commodities trading works. It just irks me to no end when people profess something to be true (like oil speculators are driving up the price of oil) with no first hand knowledge. Then they back it up with some totally wrong BS that shows they know absolutely nothing about what they are talking about. Just repeating something they heard some where else and gee, it's just gotta be true, casue so and so said so. Get Outta Town! Do I have to go to the corner now?Maybe my comment was spect, lol.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!I miss worded that alot, but you get the point, big oil has not been controled. As far as Gm,they are selling loads in china now.they will get the good stuff while we are stuck with the crap.lolRe: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here! All the other comd's the usda and govt are involved in,they buy them have to keep them cool, etc.uncle sam is watching.Oil can be bought years in advance, never have to touch it or even see it,just every 30days resale it.But with Iraq now putting out oil,and more in the future, plus gov getting involved,I see oil takeing a big fall.Re: RV Fuel Issues & Prices - Post 'Em Here!Look what's going on today!! gov let's a hint out that they have been checking into spec trading for 6mon's already, and prices have been droping all day.:)Re: Diesel vs gas...................... rsh_757 wrote: I like my money as much as the next guy, but I am not quitting a diesel in lieu of a gas rig just because fuel prices are higher. I never bought into the old "it will save me money" deal anyways. I just like the way it works as a truck engine. I have a Honda for anything else. Well said,I love the diesel's i used to have, but went back an got the 8.1 and am happy with my result's.Re: Diesel vs gas......................no cruise is off, havent tried it with the cruise on.and yes I love how the 8.1 will pick up to speed quicker than the diesel.even while loaded
