We did the snip the tip mod, we put 2 12v fans behind the unit facing up across the coils, we tried putting in a potentiometer, nothing worked on getting that fridge below 40. Unplugging the thermistor was the only solution...it puts the unit in protect mode and buries it temp wise...we had to do this when camping to keep anything cold and safe for eating. When our trip was over, we'd plug it back in when it was in storage. I was hoping that they are better now b/c the units we like (Jayco's) are no longer using Norcolds.Dometic FridgeThose of you with modern TT campers (2015-Present) whom have Dometic Fridges with the slider fin Thermistor..is it keeping your fridge cold? Our experience with Dometic is very poor, much prefer Norcold. We are looking at picking up another camper and the ones we are looking at all come with Dometic and we HATE them based on our experience. Seems no matter where you place the thermistor the temp controller doesn't work. Our fridge didn't get below 40 degrees so we had to disconnect it and put it in protect mode to get cold. Have they made any improvements? Thanks RRRe: RollingRock is back...... ib516 wrote: Glad you're back buddy. Thank you sir. Missed you fellas. Love that truck! It puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I have not pulled anything with mine yet. get my list of mods worked out. Probably going to level this one.Re: RollingRock is back...... newman fulltimer wrote: camp-n-family wrote: You sold a 6.0 Ford to a friend and remained friends?? Thank you DirtyOil....would you mind taking a little more time with your post and give me a little more detail? I have the cup version that is pretty adjustable and know a few folks that can weld. I think you are on to something I just cannot vision it on your post. Thank you!! Here you go RollingRockTX: one could either bolt it together or better yet weld the tubing and ball to the plate. The tubing diameter smaller then the tripod "cup" so as to slide inside the cup, drill holes into tubing to match holes in cup for "locking pin". That is awesome thank you for taking the time to do that. I kind of figured it out but this visual is very helpful. Thanks again!! RRRe: Andersen Ultimate Hitch /King Ping Stabalizer ? We've found that X-chicks are more effective at reducing trailer wiggle than a kingpin stabilizer. I have the x chocks as well, they help but the wiggle from the back to the front is only bad when they go up and down the stairs. The stairs happen to be the furthest back.
