How long do posts hang out here until someone deletes them?Re: AAA ERS FAILThe day before our 19 year old daughter went off to college, we signed on to AAA. The next day, Monday, she headed off to school. At her half way point...2 hours from school, 2 hours from home, she broke down. AAA refused to help because of their policy of not acting until the third day of the policy...or something like that. They left a 19 year old young woman stranded. I have three more stories...shall I go on?Re: Trailer Legs TXiceman wrote: Another issue I see is that the axle manufacturers say not to place jacks on the axle tube as it may damage the axle. These lift the axle exactly where the manufacturers tell you not to lift the trailer. Ken NOT true. The manufacturer warns against jacking in the MIDDLE of the axle. Reading the responses to this post, seems some of you might be surprised to learn that with the exception of the tongue, the axles support the entire weight of your rig!Re: Trailer LegsIt would be beneficial to post actual research, not just armchair opinion on this product and its benefits/shortfalls. Hearing from someone who actually uses the product would be most helpful.Trailer LegsAnyone use these? Trailer LegsSolar Panel ThreadBefore starting another thread, is there a dedicated "Solar Panel" thread already here? And if I were yo start one, where? Here (Tech Issues) or "Boondocking? ThanksRe: FREE WOODALLS--AAAHave you ever called on AAA for roadside help? You won't like it if you do! They would not help us with a flat tire on our trailer....TOW VEHICLE ONLY. That was with premium membership! GOOD LUCK!!Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos welsteach wrote: Travelingfools, can you recommend a diameter for poles with reels attached? I store my rods the same as Travelingfools, and store my fishing reels in my sock drawer....they're safer there. Also, I do not use a tacklebox, but a fishing vest. It holds as much as a tacklebox, and hangs in my closet.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosThe bumper is less than ideal for storing a sewer hose for two reasons. 1. The bumper tends to rust from the inside with the added moisture. 2. The rusty interior acts as "sandpaper" and rubs holes in the Stinky Slinky. Here's what I did, copying an idea I found on this forum. Using a PVC fence post and two fence post caps purchased at the hardware store, two heavy duty bungee cords, and two nails, I made what you see here. The end caps are held on with the two nails acting as pins in pre-drilled holes, seen here. The U-bolts that hold my spare tire bracket on the bumper elevate the fence post just enough so the end caps don't get pinched against the bumper. The bottom and the back side of the post (facing the back of the trailer) have several 2 inch holes for drainage and ventilation.
