The only thing that slows the dry-rot process down is for the tires to roll on the road as designed. They need to flex. That's why during the winter months when the trailer is shut down, I still hitch up and take the trailer for a 10 mile drive about ever 3 weeks, if not traveling (we take 2 trips over the winter months to South Carolina and Florida for a week each.) Eternabond is probably the best cheap fix. The best repair would be to replace the rubber roof but not practical due to the age of the rig. The would probably run around $2000.00.Retro RV'SI have a neighbor that just ordered a Retro camper and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them. I have done some reacearch on them but can't seem to find information as to quality and durability. They seem to resemble rigs of the 50's from what I've seen.Re: Question on auto antifreeze ?Where are you with your rig in the winter and why would you want to dump a pollutant in the sewer system? Most places consider that a product to be disposed of properly.Re: slide out cover!A slide topper is always good to protect the top of the slide from weather. they make products to help protect the seals from drying and cracking. The use of both will extend the life of your rig.
