I do my own. one at a time.Re: Axle Bearing Service - Dos and Dont's???I found a bad bearing and race about 2 years ago and bought Timken bearings and races for all 4. I did the bad one and had a heck of a time getting the races in even with the tools. I inspected the others without replacement and repacked with Mobile 1 full syn bearing grease, (red) and all is still OK. I remember when bearings and races were sold as a set and you never mixed them. With my new Timkens the bearings and races are sold separately and can be mixed. I am guessing once they have been installed and run it's best not to mix them.Re: Lubricant for stabilizersNothing heavy but apply 2x a year.Re: New (maybe) Class A owner and Jeep JKI am where the OP is but don't have the jeep or MH yet. Still in research and info mode but do have the short list. MH will be a newer but used Newmar Bay Star at 32 ft or less and towing a Wrangler Rubicon to be bought soon. I will be traveling alone with my Bernese Mtn Dog. Present rig is a Ram diesel and a OutdoorsRV TT and is works OK but want the ability to explore more and more room for Berners plus ease of setup. The fear is no ability to back up. I get cold feet over this every day. Once I make the switch there is no going back. A MH is a big $$$$ item that falls like a rock in value. I'll probably just go with all BlueOx system with a Ft bumper on the Jeep designed for a tow bar.Re: 2 1/2" hitch shankIf you go with a 2 1/2 inch shank and you need the TT moved due to truck failure, you will need to find someone with a class 5 hitch. Keep the 2 inch and use the sleeve. been using mine for 2 years now with no issues.Re: Going from 4x2 to 4x4Tires can make a big difference. Even the tread pattern on same size tire. Some tires require more PSI than others to ride correctly. A truck that sits lower can also feel more stable.Re: My camper is in the river nowCongrats on the new TT. Sometimes in life, things do work out OK.Re: AAA and tow vehicle and trailerIf you have the RV membership. If the tow vehicle needs to be towid they will also tow the trailer.Re: Rear end bouncing/Equal-i-zer 4-point 10K hitchOn a washboard freeway it feels like my truck is being shook apart by the TT. When not towing the same freeway is not as bad. I would take the tire PSI up to the max cold and see if it makes a difference just to start. Is that 620 tongue weight a measured or on from the factory info. If you really need to add weight you might be able to fill a holding tank in front just to see if that helps. Then if it does add the weight.Re: New owners of Blue Ox Sway pro who previously owned Reese...Great read. I am looking to replace my 14 year old worn EasyLift with the friction bar. I really like the simple Sway Pro as it has no pins to loose and is an easy and quick set up for the one night stops. I questioned the sway control of it but looks like it works. I tow where there is wind so that is important.
