Could you elaborate on "won't be available until the end of June" ? Will they be offering the motor/head units again? Will this be Lippert?Re: DC-DC Charger Wiring Input SuggestionsI recently (4mo ago) installed Renogy 40a DC/DC charger. F-350 chassis/cab w/flatbed and Northern Lite 10-2. It went as follows. Under hood, red 4awg from battery "+" post --> WindyNation 60a ANL fuse --> 300a solenoid --> 120a Anderson plug. Black 4awg from chassis ground --> Anderson plug. 300a solenoid is under hood and has 12awg trigger wire to upfitter switch and one to ground. In camper, from Anderson red --> Renogy --> 60a Windynation ANL --> battery. From Anderson black --> battery. We have flooded batteries so also have a temp probe from Renogy to batt compartment. The solenoid is under the hood and wired to one of the upfitter switches in the cab, so the whole operation can be turned on/off from the upfitter switch in cab. The Anderson plug and corresponding receptacle (in camper side) both have all weather covers so when not in use they are protected. The Anderson in camper side is next to the 7pin plug for convenience. The final step to this will be to install a high-idle switch so when sitting, we can increase the rpm's and charge without worrying about the exhaust system buildup. May or may not be worth it, still uncertain. So far, it seems to work nicely, but haven't put it to its paces yet either. We've got a bit of tiedown metal work to get done and then we'll spend some more quality time going through the loading/lining up process to see what mods we may look into for this. Cheers.Fine Tuning the loadWe have just upgraded from SRW pickup to DRW flatbed. Our camper has "dually" brackets which made loading the SRW a breeze. With the flatbed, there is approx 1.5" between jacks and bed frame if loaded evenly. My question is, is there a way to move camper an inch or so left/right using jacks? I can get it pretty close with mirrors, but it would be nice to have a trick in the bag if needed. Also, with the SRW we noticed the camper would frequently gravitate to the right side (road camber), if this were to happen too much with new rig, the left dually bracket may not be able to swing all the way out and we would need a way to move back closer to centerline. I have considered a long 2x6 and bottle jack against the short side, but would prefer not to push against lower side of camper like that. Any thoughts/experiences appreciated. Thanks.Re: TCing on the beachThanks to all for the feedback. Not sure when it will happen, but will share when it does.TCing on the beachOne of our goals is to do some beach camping. I've spent a fair amount of time as a youth knocking about in 4x4s (mostly Jeep CJs) on soft sand beaches. Always air down to 15# and kept a light foot. Was wondering what tips, tricks, advice there is for SRW crew cab pickup with 12K GVW close to that weight running on the beach? Understandably, the type of sand makes a difference, best I can say is it will be North Carolinian sand. Not sure exactly where though.Re: Help...Loading a camper solo! What we've discovered is by lowering the driver seatback and watching the process over the driver left shoulder (directly, without mirrors) is much more manageable. https://thegreygoose.net/wp/2017/11/23/unloading-loading/Re: Truck Camper Wifi SetupThis can also be done with a Raspberry Pi, https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=142266 I've done proof of concept at home, but not yet on the road.Tread Depth/Wear Marks/Tire ReplacementDo you run tires to wear marks before replacing? Currently running 275 R70 18 Firestone Transforce HT on Dodge 3500 SRW w/Northern Light 10-2. Tires are approx half way to wear marks compared to new (spare).
