It has to be calibrated to your particular trailer and is done by going to an open area and driving and turning with it when it says to do so. The issue I found is locating an area that is open enough to be able go straight, turn and so on when it says to do so without parking stops or other vehicles in the way. I have actually removed it and just back up the old fashioned way and don't have any problems. But then again I used to drive a tractor trailer and have had plenty of practice. Perhaps if I can locate an area suitable for calibration I may try it just to see how it is. I think it would take a bit of getting used to using a small knob to steer rather than the steering wheel.Re: Roof coatings.Oops. Tried to do a quote, but went without my comments. I justy had the same spray on done to my 5th wheel & it is awesome. Very tough and durable, and eliminates the caulk maintenence around the seams and protrusions. It is a one piece seamless product once finished.Re: Roof coatings. 2naEagle wrote: ken56 wrote: Anyone familiar with RV Armor, Flex Armor Gaco or other liquid roof coating? I suffered some damage to my roof and am being told I need a whole new roof. It's only 4 years old but I understand a dealer service shop needs to cover their butts if they are going to guarantee a new repair installation. Is the liquid roof stuff a good option? It's almost half the cost of a new TPO or EDPM membrane. Any insight here? This is what I put on my 5th wheel. IMHO nothing better. Only caveat is that it is not free.Re: 20k USA made hitch for rails? The Demco 21k Premier double pivot. https://www.demco-products.com/rv-towing/hijacker-5th-wheel-hitches/premier-series/21-k-double-pivot I have this one and it is excellent.Re: Diesel truck issues - thinking of going to gasWhat you are saying doesn't necessarily make sense. None of the issues that you are having have any bearing whatsoever to the diesel engine. It's kind of like "I'm having a lot of problems at work, so I'm going to go home and kick the dog & divorce my wife". The issues are with the front end and transmission which would be the exact same with a gas engine, unless you went with a heavy duty 3500 and ordered it with the Aisin transmission. That however comes with a diesel engine. There is always the possibility of issues with any model or brand of truck. I previously had a Ram 2500 with the Cummins diesel and absolutely loved it. I moved to a Ford because I needed 4 wheel drive, and the cabin is much larger and more comfortable inside for my family, but my F350 is awesome also. In an ideal world, it would be great to order trucks like the big rigs where you could specify individual components, Then I would get the Ford body, Cummins engine, and Allison transmission. You would be better served if you identified what is most important to you for a vehicle and went from there. Again, the diesel engine is not the source of your problems, but if you would rather have gas, then go for it.Re: hitch questionJust as a point of reference. I have the Demco Hijacker Premier 16k hitch. The reason I bought it is because at has a wrap around Jaw AND a safety bar that slides across when hitched up. This to me is the most secure attachment I've been able to find. I did look at B&W due to all the good reviews, but settled on the Hijacker which had equally good reviews, and a double locking system.Re: Need a new SUV to tow!I beg to differ with Naturist. I have an 05 Suburban 2500 with 4:10 rear, 8.1L engine, and full factory tow package. It is rated to tow 12,000 lbsand a 19,000 GVRW & pulls and stops my 38' 9,000# trailer just fine. I traded my 2010 Ram 2500 CTD for it because I needed to carry more people that the pick-up would carry (7). The rating is only 1300#'s less than what I had in the Ram, but what I do miss is the torque of the CTD & exhaust brake. Other than that, no issues whatsoever. Just had it through the CAT scale fully loaded on a trip and was well within all specified ratings. The only issue that OP may find is that Chevrolet doesn't make the 2500's anymore, and used ones are fairly hard to come by, when they do go up for sale, they go quick. That's a shame because there are families out there that like to camp, but are larger than the people carrying capacity of a pickup.Re: GPSGoogle maps Iphone 6S Plus
