Minus 15-20 celcius here for past few days. Truck has been sitting for 4 days not plugged in. Started it up and went to high Idle (1100 rpm IIRC) immediatley. After 2-3 minutes it dropped to 900 rpm and then used to cruise to set idle back to 1100 and left it there while I scraped ice and snow off. As long as you log off duty and not sleeper you are perfectly legal to sleep in your pick up as of February 2013 (IIRC). If you were fined by Texas DOT you should have fought it. I have been doing it for the past 1.5 years and seen many inspections and have never had an issue.
