I loop mine through a coder pin at the top of my hitch and also over the release handle. It hasn't come loose since.Re: Pulled the Trigger on a Grand Design Reflection 303RLSI've had my 303 for about 18 months and love it. Happy CampingRe: Truck weights and towingBassmon I see you are from my home town. Great place to grow up. Please disregard any dry weight figures. A trailer is never empty after you bring it home. Your pin weight will be close or over.Re: 1st time buyer (TT) Bammer4 wrote: Thank you. We have been looking around for about 5 months and the RV show is in town which is the main reason we are looking to buy this weekend (good prices). We have checked the weight several times to the point that we started doubting ourselves. I have a F150 that has a 7500 capacity. So we have been looking at 6000 UVA and under. Don't look at unload or dry weight of any trailer. Look for the GVWR (max load) of all trailers. You won't be pulling it unloaded except to bring it home.Re: No pumping waterOn mine I have to move the switches, in the docking station, to the water tanks vs. the city water setting. My pump will run, but no water will flow.Re: all weather vent coversGo on-line to Camping World and they are $30-$60 or try ebay or Amazon.Re: 5W vs. Bumper PullFirst off need more information: 1. What size TV do you have? or do you plan to buy that also? TV dictates the RV you get. 2. Family size, what type of use, etc? 3. Base your buying decision on what the GVWR your TV can handle, loaded with all your stuff and people you will carry. DON'T go buy dry weight. It means nothing. 4. If buying used (a good idea on your first purchase) have someone with experience look at it or have it inspected. I won't let friends buy used unless I look at it or they have someone do that. Lessoned learned for me. 5. Are you storing it on site or do you need to find storage? 6. Do you have any DIY skills? A must in owning an RV. Good luck on your search and be sure to ask questions.Re: 12K Pullrite Superslide hitch. Is it enough?First off forget about dry weight, it means nothing. Second look at the sticker on the drivers side of the trailer and see what the GVWR weight is and that will tell you the hitch size you need. I would have my hitch be at least 2K to 3K more than my trailer and make sure the hitch can handle the pin weight. I would go with a min of 15-16K. JMHO though.Re: First extended trip with 5th wheelStay off the cruise control and slow down. Remember your tires are rated for 65 mph. I tow in the Pacific Northwest and I am finishing a 3 week trip to the NE part of our state. Quite a few passes of 3500 to 5500 feet on two lane roads. I run as low a 8 mph and as high as 11.5 mph on this trip (which includes flat towing). I have a 2017 GD Reflection 303 at 12,000# towing with an 04 F350 Dually 6.0 diesel. When all said and done I will probably average 10 mpg and I will be happy with that.Re: Single person - How difficult to do everything by yourself?I've had both a MH and FW as a solo. Both are easy, with practice to set up along. The MH was probably the easiest. I like the living area in the FW better, that's why I bought another FW last year. I scope out the area to back into, pick a point to follow, get out many times, and I'm not worried about how long or how many times I have to adjust. I put it where I want and then go to set up. Takes me about 30 minutes to do and most of the time I only hook power and water up. If I need anything else I do later after a nice cold beer. Enjoy and have fun.
