When we were camped last weekend with OBS, people were running them until 9 at night, then having them back on at 8 in the morning. What the hell for? It was 60 degrees. I can go down to Walmart and buy a TV that would run on 12v. Heater? Unless you need it 80 in the trailer all night, pretty sure you didn't need it for that. Lights? That is probably why most euro trailers are clamshells, which don't lend themselves well to slides. The rest of us own trucks to go to/from work, tow our trailers, do home improvement, and have fun playing with them out camping. The 6.2 Raptor has more HP and Torque, so what is the difference? Tires and gearing...So many manufactures are getting EPA ratings for their trucks with the tallest gearing possible and the smallest/lightest wheel tire combo. Most of us wouldn't be caught dead towing with that combo. 0-60 towing isn't on my list of stats that I want to see. Why? Because how many times do you have your foot all the way down with a trailer behind you? I don't get myself into situations where I need to do that with my Raptor and I'm sure as hell not doing it for fun. I think I tow a lot with my truck and it accounts for about 25% of the mileage right now (btw, the F150's in dash display keeps track of this for you). So why would I sacrifice 0-60 in 75% of my driving? I like most of the entire concept, except it needs a kitchen, but overall I think it is a very neat concept. Airstream has been trying similar things for years now, from the Basecamp to the Eddie Bauer trailers. They all have a similar design to this, just different functions. I don't see how someone could think that it is claustrophobic. The giant skylights, wrap around front window, and unobstructed view out the rear would make the trailer feel bigger then it is. I really dislike most trailers sold here in the US because they don't have enough light. I don't go camping to sit in a box with a handful windows that you can barely see out of. I'm definitely drawn to trailers that have a lot of windows, it is just a shame there aren't many. Some 5er's do ok with windows, but I don't want to lose the bed space. Motorhomes are nice because of the windshields and they typically have more windows throughout, but I really don't want the $$$ that come along with one. Airstreams are nice for their windows, but again $$$ for what you are really getting. Manufactures can do better, but American buyers need to step up and be willing to pay for it. I think we are slowly getting there though. 5 years ago it was unheard of for people to spend 25K on a compact car. Now, people like myself, are buying them for more than that and car manufactures are taking notice. MMMM, I would love that Aston though....R8's aren't bad either and may be the bargain of that group; exotic looking, Lambo V10, and they look good.Re: Oregon - I5 to US97As others have said, depends on what you want to see. I-84 - Nice views of the gorge, but longer and kind of out of the way. Hwy 26 - Great view of Mt. Hood and then once you get on Hwy 97, great views of the Sisters Range. Hwy 20 - Nice view of Mt. Jefferson and a few high mountain lakes. You also get to go through Sisters, which is a nice little town and some good views coming into Bend. Hwy 58 - Not a bad road, but not a whole lot to see either. The tunnel is closed about 50 miles from I5 between 8pm and 6am Mon-Thu. This might be the quickest route to get to the north entrance of Crater Lake though due to the lack of towns and a reasonable drive on I-5, probably the least mountainous. Hwy 138 - Long drive down I5, however nice views along the umpqua river with lots of waterfalls to stop and hike into. I guess that would work if you only want to have two adults in the truck...:R I like the Lance lineup myself and am looking into getting a 1575 shortly. I think you will be very impressed by the overall quality of their trailers.
