You may need to connect the rod Nd a new pin and manually crank it back down a bit. Then put a mark on your gear that shows you not to retract above that line.Re: fuel stopsWe recently used an iphone app that was very good ... it might have cost $1.99 but was well worth it. I would show how many truck parking spots at each place and that gives you a good idea of the size of these truck stops.Re: Can I whine???I feel your pain. We just cancelled an entire week at premium spots. Hopefully that means someone else gets our spots and feels fortunate instead.Re: Camping near Vail, COVail is a pretty expensive and exclusive spot, I've never seen any RV(s) there. Tiger run is great, but going over vail pass from Breckenridge would not be convenient, imho. If vail is the true destination, then I know there may be places to the West within an easier drive ... or Gore Creek CG found on rvparkreviews "There are not many campgrounds near Vail but we had read about a first come, first served National Forest Campground just east of town called Gore Creek. As we had our choice of sites when we arrived and settled in easily. The sites are large and private. There are no services other than pit toilets. We arrived under fire restrictions so no camp fires here (although usually, that is not a problem). You can hear the road noise from I-70 faintly but it’s quiet enough that the wind in the aspen trees drowns it out. It was a great spot to stay near Vail and we would definitely stop here again. There is no Wi-Fi but the 3G signal was strong. We camped here in a Motorhome. "Re: Travel in mountains question.I don't think you'll have a problem with a 250 diesel. We did the mt rushmore trip in our gas truck towing a 6500 TT and I don't recall the hills being too bad. Glacier will probably be a lot more but remember there are lot of flatlands between all the places mentioned.Re: 2014 reese pro 16k questionsThanks everyone!Re: 2014 reese pro 16k questionsThanks, yes we use a padlock on the handle LATCH ... I like the design of that, because it kind of makes sure the handle is IN, or the latch won't meet the groove on the handle. So far unhitching has been a breeze, but the hitching is sometimes hard to push the handle in ... so I'm thinking following the manual will make that part easy as well!!Re: 2014 reese pro 16k questionsThanks, I really wanted to hear from someone who has used this specific hitch! Yes, I have been coming in low as they told me to and as the Reese manual suggests. How low I'm still figuring out. One guy said for the nylon ring to just "kiss" the bottom of the reese plate ... so I know I've been running the king pin "up" the end of the ramp and into the hitch. Re: Tornado Tank RinseI had the quickie flush on my las trailer and it was awesome and easy to install. Y new rig has a built in black flush that sucks by comparison and has some vacuum anti vacuum on it that seems to render its operation sub par.2014 reese pro 16k questionsI have a question about whether I doing this right or not. I'm talking about a brand new 2014 reese pro 16k fifth wheel hitch, non slider. Dealer who seemed to have little knowledge on other things showed me to open pull the handle 'out' (opens jaws) then back truck up, engaging king pin, then close (push handle back in) to lock jaws around king pin. I've found pushing handle back in is often difficult or requires moving around before it works. It does eventually work that way but am wondering if I was shown incorrectly (instructions infer this is incorrect). So I read the reese pro manual last night and it seems to indicate (step 4) that I should basically start with the handle pushed in (closed position) ... And that backing the truck into the jaws will open and close automatically (or should). See picture below: I'm a bit nervous doing as the manual said, but am thinking dealer may have been wrong as it was a young teen showing me and didn't seem overly knowledgable . Thanks, Scott
