Yes, we often look for interesting things to see along the way. No, not in a hurry...we have the whole day to make the trip with no other plans. Just need to eventually check in to our destination campground in Crescent City sometime before dark...most likely leave Reno before 8am...so we'll have time to check out some stuff along the way. Thanks Tin-bender for the tip on the rest stop and scenic overlook @ Mt. Lasssen as well as the Straw House. All are now on our list to consider and making us lean in the direction of that route.Re: Route from Reno to RedwoodBumping this back up in the hopes some more suggestions come through... We are about 2 weeks from our departure date. Still not settled on our route from Reno to Cresent City, CA. Any suggestions...scenic routes? I'm not hesitant about most road types, but the in-laws are a little more conservative when it comes to "adventurous routes". May consider taking different routes. Thanks.Route from Reno to RedwoodLooking for some advice on a route from Reno, NV to the Redwood National Park area. We will be towing 30' lite TT with a newer (to be purchased) gas suburban. We are traveling with our in-laws who will be in a 38' Class A diesel pusher. Specifically looking for advice on Rt. 44 from Susanville to Redding and then Rt. 299 from Redding to Arcata. I've read some threads on here already about Rt. 299...some long climbs and switch backs. If we do it, I'm prepared for taking it slow and letting traffic around on passing lanes and utilizing the turn-offs. How is Rt. 44 out of Susanville? Has anyone had experience with these routes...anything to watch out for? We will be traveling late July/early August. Thanks.Re: Family Camping PicturesBoy oh boy...ain't that true bakerkids - "Happy Campers Welcome" They're the only kind allowed in our site.Re: Family Camping PicturesYogi Bear's Jellystone Park, North Java, NY - June 2010 Indiana Dunes State Park, IN - Aug 2010 Rafter J, Hill City SD - Aug 2010 Crazy Horse, SD - Aug 2010 Badlands National Park, SD - Aug 2010 Custer State Park, SD - Aug 2010 Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos ctpres wrote: Becky33850 wrote: . Soooooo jealous that some are camping this time of year. I wanna go camping too... Just need to get rid of the snow and ice that have our unit trapped in our driveway.Re: post pictures of your HTTAfter lurking for a while, I'll share some of ours...
