After I loaded the FREE app, they came back a few weeks later and charged me the 99 cents plus tax. So much for the honesty of the app owner. I have no control of the billing process. That is all controlled by Apple. They haven't gave me a dime since I made the app free in March. If they are making money off of my efforts by charging you for my free app, then I will be very upset. Please contact Apple to try to resolve this issue, and let me know how it goes. If anybody else was charged after the app was made free, then please let me know. It may be easy to dismiss since it is just 99 cents, but corporations should not be allowed to do business like this.Re: RV Parky is now FREE for everybody (Android and iOS) Tennessee_Nomad wrote: Is it compatible with windows 8? The Android app has always been free. I was charging 99 cents for the iPhone/iPad app to help pay for Apple's fees and to buy an Apple computer to create the iOS app on (they require you use a Mac to make apps). In about six months since I released it, I have earned a little over $1k from downloads. This just about covers my expenses, so as promised, I switched the app to free! For any of you who were hesitant to pay for the app, you can now download it for free. Thank you to everybody who helped support RV Parky. http://www.rvparky.com/blog/rv-parky-app-is-now-free-for-ios-and-androidRe: New "Free RV Park finder for android 1492 wrote: Just for clarification, the RV Parky app for Android is Free with no ads. There is a new iOS version available for the iPad/iPhone, but appears to be a paid only version on iTunes at this time. Thanks for the clarification. I really wanted to keep the app free, but making the iOS version proved more expensive than I planned. I hope the price is fair.Re: RV Parky website mileshuff wrote: Great website!! I did check out a couple RV parks I've been to and see what the site says. Buelleton, CA Flying Flags rates 4 stars while Pechenga RV in Temecula, CA ranks 3 stars. Neither has any reviews. While both parks are very good decent parks, Pechenga is WAY above Flying Flags. The latter is a campground type park, gravel roads, simple but nice. Pechenga is a big rig upscale RV park, wide spots, grass between them, paved roads etc. I think reviews are subject to what a person likes and where they have traveled. I think a better method of star rating would be similar to hotel star ratings. Has nothing to do with reviews but rather the type of park, amenities etc. For example, A 1 star RV park would be a dirt or paved lot, no trees, basic pool, just basic essentials. Lost Hills, CA KOA comes to mind as a 1 *. 2 star would add hot tub and wifi but still very basic. 3 to 5 stars would add wider spots, more pull thru's, nicer pool, kids play ground, park activities, club house etc. You bring up a good point. I also think that star ratings are not the best way to rate RV parks, but I included them because most people expect a star rating. I know that I've been to some clean, inexpensive RV Parks right off the freeway with easy pull-thrus that are perfect for an overnight stay but I would not want to stay for a week. I am working on some ideas to make the ratings better. I welcome any suggestions. By the way, the iPhone/iPad version just got approved by Apple and is now available on iTunes! Thanks for the suggestion. The website has this functionality. There is a "Max Distance" drop down on the left side of the search results. The app does not have this, but results are sorted by distance from the location you entered (or your location if you used the "Search Near Me" button.Re: RV Parky websiteGlad you found my website. I am the developer of http://www.rvparky.com. Since it is a new website, lots of parks do not have any ratings yet. Instead of showing these as 0 stars, I calculated an average rating from other websites to give a general impression of the park's quality. For those parks that do not have any reviews yet, there is a "Search the web for reviews" link that will take you directly to a Google search for the RV park -- which will usually take you to rvparkreviews.com. If you have any other questions, then you can ask me here or email me at help@rvparky.com. By the way, I also have available an Android app. An iOS (iPhone/iPad) app is coming very soon.Re: New "Free RV Park finder for android Bill.Winegard wrote: I see that some of the sites listed actually only allow tent camping. How's that work? All the listings should allow RVs, but I might have some tent only campgrounds in there that shouldn't be. Let me know if you find any tent only campgrounds, and I'll remove them.Re: New "Free RV Park finder for android Bill.Winegard wrote: Great app Lenny! Are you open to feedback? We travel full time (we move 2-3 times per week) and often find errors in many data bases but we have never found anyone interested in us providing accurate info. If you are, what do I need to do to get the accurate info to you when we find errors? Yes, I love feedback! I worked hard to ensure the accuracy of the listings on RV Parky, but I know I cannot manage thousands of RV parks all by myself. I'm working on some new features to make it easy for users to edit listings directly, but until then, the best way to report errors is to use the "Report a problem" button on the RV Park details screen. Also, you can send me an email at help@rvparky.com.Re: New "Free RV Park finder for android clikrf8 wrote: Guess I'll have to wait for iPhone. Thanks, anyway. Sorry, I don't have an iOS version yet. I would love to make one available, but Apple requires that you use a Mac computer to develop iOS apps, which I don't have. On top of that, they charge $99/year to publish the app. I want to keep RV Parky free for all, and can't afford these added expenses. So until my wife wins the lotto and buys me a macbook, the best I can do is to encourage iPhone and iPad users to use the website, http://www.rvparky.com. If the website doesn't look right on your iPhone, or if there is any way I can make the website more iOS friendly, the please send me an email with your suggestions. - Lenny
