I live in Northern Minnesota. The trailer batteries and the two pontoon boat batteries all get fully charged and disconnected for the winter and left where they are. They are outside from the first of October until April without any problems. There is plenty of clearance for the tire.............The equalizer is a good point. When we changed the blowout, we drove onto 3 2x6 pcs. to raise the flat and still had to use the jack because the tire on the blocks went way up but the torn up tire did not raise up enough to even change. When I used a jack at home to jack up the entire side of the trailer both tires came up right away. Had a blowout, bought new tire, also used the "new" spare in order to have two new tires, and found out the spare is a 15" tire and all the rest are 14". Is there any problem running a tire that is a little over an inch larger on a tandem axle travel trailer? The trailer weighs just under 5,000 pounds. Do realize the trailer hitch is only rated for 5000 lb. trailer and 500 lb. tongue weight without a weight distribution hitch? I think the f150 may be a little light for that size trailer!. Our trailer sets across the road from our house. I just make sure the batteries are fully charged, disconnect them, and let them sit. Our pontoon boat has two batteries, one starting and one trolling, and I do the same with them. We live in northern Minnesota on a lake and get temps way below zero, no problems.
