I fully charge the batteries, leave them in our travel trailer, disconected, all winter. Our pontoon boat with two batteries is treated the same. Never had a battery freeze in over twenty years! CdruRe: Battery in Michigan winter ?I live in Northern Minnesota. The trailer batteries and the two pontoon boat batteries all get fully charged and disconnected for the winter and left where they are. They are outside from the first of October until April without any problems. Been doing this for many years and have never had one freeze. cdruRe: One different size tire on tandom axleThere is plenty of clearance for the tire.............The equalizer is a good point. When we changed the blowout, we drove onto 3 2x6 pcs. to raise the flat and still had to use the jack because the tire on the blocks went way up but the torn up tire did not raise up enough to even change. When I used a jack at home to jack up the entire side of the trailer both tires came up right away. Seems like the trailer is light and springs are also light. One different size tire on tandom axleHad a blowout, bought new tire, also used the "new" spare in order to have two new tires, and found out the spare is a 15" tire and all the rest are 14". Is there any problem running a tire that is a little over an inch larger on a tandem axle travel trailer? The trailer weighs just under 5,000 pounds. ThanksRe: Is my F150 powerful enough?Do realize the trailer hitch is only rated for 5000 lb. trailer and 500 lb. tongue weight without a weight distribution hitch? I think the f150 may be a little light for that size trailer!. Kudos the the dealers that refused to sell to you. Lots of dealers would sell anyway. cdruRe: Battery During WinterOur trailer sets across the road from our house. I just make sure the batteries are fully charged, disconnect them, and let them sit. Our pontoon boat has two batteries, one starting and one trolling, and I do the same with them. We live in northern Minnesota on a lake and get temps way below zero, no problems. Been doing it this way for many years. cdruRe: Blowing out water lines mistake ??Yes, I do feel better. I might even sleep at night again!!!!!!!Re: Blowing out water lines mistake ??Well, I blew it out again and got about one quarter of a cup of water. Not much. I do use rv antifreeze in the traps. ThanksRe: Blowing out water lines mistake ??Thanks for all the replies. I am going to blow the lines out again. Been using a compressor and blowing lines out for 18+ years with no problems. Just got into a hurry I guess!! ThanksRe: Blowing out water lines mistake ??So, if I open the WH bypass valve, would any water above the valve simply run into the WH? A small amount in the WH shouldn't hurt anything. Everything else, including the cold and hot faucets etc, were blown out properly. Thanks
