After touring the fort, we took the ferry to Vermont on our way to New Hampshire and Mount Washington. Fifth wheel and truck was $15 to cross the Hudson. Lake Champlain? No ferry on the Hudson in fact VT is not on the Hudson river.Re: Is this a good deal?If your buying from Buffalo RV good luck getting a decent trade in. We walked away last fall they offered us half of what Colton gave us.Re: Letchworth State ParkHard to believe a state cg that discourages bringing the dog have not seen that before. Oh well we will give it a go.Re: McMansions On Wheels, Have We Gone To FarTent camped until three yrs ago have an EZ Up tent two cots it was great but as others have mentioned age started creeping in so 3 seasons ago bought a 26 ft tt with slide. Never use the TV or microwave (although it does keep bread fresh) camp in NF COE'S and state parks. I would like to know why sometimes the palace pulls in and the owners look down their noses at you not all but some. Is it a status symbol? Just saying.Letchworth State ParkJust wondering if anyone has any suggestions on a loop/campsite we like to be away from others and we have two Goldens retrievers appears that there are loops for non pet owners. Thanks for any input.Re: Why do people have such large trailers? oakbowery wrote: I have a 37' TT. We have two kids and a third on the way. For us, we have family and friends that often come stay so we need to be able to sleep a lot of people comfortably. My parents have a 23' and after having mine, theirs seems tiny. It suits them just fine (just the two of them). For us, the 37' camper is awesome. Every family has different needs, hence the reason for various sizes. Wife and I have a 25ft suits our needs just fine, initially she wanted a much bigger unit and I had to keep reminding her we camp in State Parks and COE's any bigger and we won't fit.Re: Paying for two sites dave54 wrote: I haven't reserved two, but I have (and frequently do) reserve the day before I arrive and/or the day after. We frequently stay at some local campgrounds that are within an hour drive of our home. We get up and leave early, arriving at the campsite well before check in time. Inevitably, the previous occupant is still there and does not leave until the stroke of the hour he has to. So we sit and wait hours until he leaves. We reserve the day before and the site is empty no matter how early we arrive. This is technically in violation of some public campground rules (must be occupied first night), but we have yet to be called on it. The same for the day after. We will stay late afternoon/after dinner to drive home, well past checkout time. We reserve the day after and do not have to leave early. We tell the CG host we are leaving and he can send any late drop-in arrival to our now empty reserved site. Since I have the 1/2 price geezer pass the cost for the two extra nights is only one night's fee. Dave you are a BAD person you are selfish self centered person......LOL there I beat Crowe and Fogie to it.......LOL Even better yet you have the geezer pass...LOL At least I pay full price. Ok time for a beer....Re: Paying for two sites OldFogie wrote: VT Skier wrote: Old Fogie, When some one says "because of people like you I can't get a spot to go camping" if they would read I clearly state that the CG is half empty two days before arrival. I repeat: Why did you even post the question if you were going to attack everyone who disagreed with what you want to do? Thank goodness for cell services ....Fogie please point out where I attacked anyone...Don't think you can. Now if someone has an illogical answer and hasn't read the entire post I would ask them to read the entire post. Have you ever entered into a debate on a subject? Well this appearently is a good one I believe what I do is not a problem given the perameters and you believe differently so if I vote one party and you vote another what's the difference we are allowed our opinions That being said we should all endorse the SOCIALIST candidate from VT MR BERNIE SANDERS...................UH NO!!!!
