It was a $100,00 dollar Carrage bought new, Lazy Days did not do a thing for them. They do like to charge $150.00 per hour for what... Might I ask why you think Lazy Days is at fault????Re: Wheel chock Dave H M wrote: What is wrong with the plastic ones that weigh a pittance of the rubber ones? They shatter when you forget to remove one and pull over it. Made me think twice about using them when on a steep slope. Gave the plastic ones away. Northern Tool has some nice rubber ones they run on sale for $5 every so often. I have 4. If you're worried about weight get a bigger truck.Re: New 5th Wheel price30% off the MFG's MSRP, not the dealers inflated MSRPRe: Ford Trucks CarolynandBob wrote: We get 10 MPH towing our 5th wheel. I think we are close to 17k. Is that as fast as that Ford will do????Re: Just exploring my 5'th wheel thoughts!Never been to Texas State campgrounds have you???Re: Just exploring my 5'th wheel thoughts!Another thought on the AF 29-5. I notice it's a rear entry RV. The first time you park at a site that slopes to the rear of the RV you will discover a problem. When the RV is leveled the first step could be a couple of feet. Been there done that with another brand. Traded for a mid entry and a little longer.Re: TV and 5er LevelingIt's a simple ratio if the pin is directly over the axle. Measure the front axle to the rear and the the rear axle to the tailgate. For example 150" and 30" = 5-1 ratio. 5" of vertical on front = 1" at the tailgate.Re: greasing wheels RAS43 wrote: memtb wrote: If they are the EZ-Lube, rolling/turning/spinning the tire is "pretty" much a must. Kind of a pain if you're by yourself. I'm going to take an old washing machine motor, fabricate a base with rollers, driven by a belt/pulley system (to spin tire slowly). Then simply place roller against tire, power-up the motor, spin the tire, and commence "greasing". Before anyone calls "bull" on the system, I have several trailers with the EZ-Lube system! The "spin, grease, repeat" gets a little old! If that works for you that is great. But for me that is too much thinking, designing and work. Wheel bearing maintenance isn't rocket science. My prior trailer had EZ Lube and I didn't use it. Repacked the bearings, checked the brakes and repeated in 3 years. Each spring I raised the tires and checked end play and listened for unusual noise. Never had an issue and traded it off in 11 years with original parts and minimal labor. That's for 1 "one" trailer, he has several so a little engineering might be in order.Re: Need to identify fifth wheel hitchI use a Curt 20k hitch. Those look like standard rails that most 5th wheel hitches will fit. Just get one rated for at least the GVW of your RV.Re: stupid mistake Jetstreamer wrote: Gotta have a notched fifth wheel tailgate ......it's just simply way too easy to forget....bought mine years ago and it's just a no brainer. Did that first thing when I got a 5th wheel. The brand new OEM tailgate is in storage. BUT It's not a fix all. Under certain circumstances you can hit the notched tailgate. Believe me I've hit it both ways. Second time evened out the bow from the first time. HINT: When you un-hitch let the air out of the airbags before pulling out.
