Most of the damage there was repaired, only a few sites still had damage to docks and Tiki huts. Further up there is still a lot of damage, lots of garbage still piled along the road for miles. Marathon was up and running but some of the stores still had not opened. In Key West itself everything was normal, not much evidence of damage. We did not go snorkeling but were told some of the reefs were damaged and the water was still cloudy. There were a number of destroyed boats and RV along the road the further up you went. There were 5 or 6 on the side of the road by the KOA. One of the RV resorts was completely destroyed, all of the utility poles and water spigots were in a big pile, they were in the process of bulldozing it, hopefully to rebuild.Re: Disney ticket discounts?I would second Mousesavers, I have used them 5 or 6 times for both Disney and Universal.Re: refrigerator beeps when bathroom lights are turned onHad a similar issue, the 3 fuses on the inverter/charger were blown. Good luck.Re: Michigan to Key West thatsme wrote: I'm also heading to the Keys in December. Plotted my route down I-77/I-95. Well after reading this I am rethinking my route. Did order a Sun Pass, 1 out of 2 isn't bad. What About Atlanta, always here it was a nightmare to get through?? Just avoid Atlanta at rush hour, which seems to run 7am - 8pm. I always drive straight through, no bypass.Re: Michigan to Key West Star Gazer wrote: Go online and order a Sunpass and set it up. Will save you lots of time, and some money. Well worth the effort. Dean Definitely plan to do this, just not sure if I should get the transponder for $20 or just get the sticker for $5. Also need to figure out if I need one of the motorhome and the toad or if they will figure it out. Thanks to all those that responded, looks like we will definitely stick to 75.Michigan to Key WestHeading down to key west end of December from mid-michigan, looking for opinions on which route to take. Can take I-75 all the way down or jump over to I-77 to I-95. Thoughts?Re: Thoughts on this MH for our first?I have a 2013 Newmar Canyon Star 3940 that I bought last fall. Love it, can't say enough good things about the Newmar. Previously owned Coachmen, Damon. Definitely a step up in quality with Newmar. As far as Mountain Aire, I think that is only a Diesel Pusher now but I may be wrong. From what I have read on Newmar Baystar and Canyon Star are the gas models now, not sure when that changed but I am pretty sure Mountain Aire is only a Diesel now. Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but if the price is right I think you will be happy with the Canyon Star, I know I am. You can also go over to the IRV2 web site, they have a specific section for Newmar owners. Have found a lot of good info there. Good luck and let us know what you end up doing.Re: 2017 Ford 5th wheel rear camera suggestionsMy dealer told me 6 - 8 weeks, I took delivery this past Monday, 12 weeks to the day I placed the order. Mine was an F350 SRW. I agree with you, I hate that sunroof. The truck was worth the wait though.Re: Price of a new F250 Ford ? Good or bad?Interesting they will even sell you the truck, dealers in Michigan are telling me they can't sell 250's because of the recall. Wouldn't even let me test drive.Re: Key West info request tropical36 wrote: Executive wrote: FYI We LOVE Bluewater Key. Close to everything and great sites. If you decide to go there, know there are TWO booking sites..Bluewaterkey.COM and Bluewaterkey.NET. .COM is the OFFICIAL website. Sites start at $100/night and go up from there. .NET is the off shoot because of some in-house disagreements. Rates thru .NET start at $75/night. The sites are the same.....Dennis Thanks for that info and didn't know of the difference when we last booked for a stay, but just checked the sites and found that .com was the most reasonable. Don't know if you might have gotten them backwards or if I'm missing something here. I booked through the .com site for Dec 2017. Rates were cheaper and .NET was not accepting reservation until April. They said when they did open up reservations the monthly reservations would get priority. Looking forward to it, this will our first time to the Keys.
