Auto tracking while underway. Don't want/need TV with commercials, so never hooked it up. Kinda' funny to think they would stick a $1400 receiver on the roof and have it locked out when driving.Re: Towing 2002 Jeep - Steering wheel lockKind of unrelated, but I put a battery disconnect on my new 2015 Wrangler for the light harness to attach from the MH for towing. It clears the 'smog test' memory every time and must be driven around a 100 miles to reset. Did not pass smog when registering in CA after purchase in AZ (50 state compliant)and it was a failed test @ $45 that made me change the harness to not have the disconnect.Re: MasceratorsA feature on macerators that really will save your bacon is the end of the armature having a slot for a screwdriver to unstick a frozen impeller. My boat would blow a fuse with the stuck poo slinger.Re: What did you do to your Class C MH today???Tried to find my controller for the s*** Schwintec slideout that failed this weekend in Quartzsite, AZ. after optimistically viewing YouTube videos and actually thinking I'd have a chance. Nope.Re: Tow BarsI put the Blue Ox base plate on a 2015 Jeep Wrangler with the Ready Brute Elite bar with surge brakes. 5 minute hook-up and disconnect. The surge system requires an 1/8" cable run to the towed-vehicle brake pedal from the front connection. It has a eyelet and crimp visible under the front bumper. We were in Twisp, WA 2 days before their big fire and a local asked what that cable was for explaining that it looked like the smallest winch he'd ever seen.Re: RV Camping near the Sonny Bono Salton Sea NWRI live in Palm Desert which is 15 or so crow miles from the sea and I got to tell you it is LOW on my destinations of choice. When the lake turns, the fish die, and the smell goes up with a south-west wind that makes you think your neighbor is getting his septic tank pumped. Not always, but our beautiful city does get odorous. There is a section to the south called Slab City with the promise of water recreation and winter temps in the 70s. Broken dreams. It now is the lowest point at 100 feet below sea level and receives agricultural and storm run-off. Birds like it, but what do they know.Re: sanitize water tansThere is a filter screen in the fresh water hose connection on my Seneca and this screen pushes on a backflow preventer when hooked to city water. To use the suction function for tank sanitation, flip the screened gasket to show the domed screen up and out and open the suction when using the water pump. Maybe the screen has been removed, but you can see the backflow valve if installed.Re: Class C purchasing help - input welcomeTake a long, serious look at the Super C Jayco Seneca or the like. I have posted in the Super C section about the problems I have had with the house build, but the engine and chassis combo is great. We flat-towed a 2015 Jeep Wrangler 4 door this summer for 6,000 miles and 7 weeks and had to remind myself it was back there. We enjoy the road visibility, utility, and living space of our 37FS. The bunkhouse was a incorrect assumption that the grand kids would be traveling more with us. The roof buckle issue is being fixed as an expansion/contraction issue and feel that we will get the use and satisfaction that we anticipated. We live in the desert and 116+ degree days happen. Don't get stuck with something that is 'almost' big enough.Re: Jayco Seneca vs. dynamax forceThe service writer climbed a ladder and said I'm looking at a new roof. No, I'm thinking, I'm looking to hand this POS back to you. Never, ever, use the Lemon word. I was told you won't get anything done past that point. The installed a stack washer and dryer in the pre-plumbed closet. Tested no leaks IN the coach. I'm going on my pre-delivery orientation and the instructor said that water dripping in the locker below was from the exterior wash. One month later I fire up the washer in the driveway to test and flood the locker and cabinet area around inside unseen. And of course they confirm the problem at the dealer by flooding the locker, cabinets, and wall at the floor for the third time. That luaun plywood does not like water, so I'm figuring since the distortion is directly above this 3-time flooding, that there is a major wall issue unseen behind the cabinets and headboard. The P-trap was installed incorrectly at the plant and not corrected by the installers. Watch this YouTube video and wonder why they see this it-gets-one-chance-to-be-right assembly as a real plus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jXMJrRQ3SVkRe: Jayco Seneca vs. dynamax forceI will say that the purchase of our new 2014 Seneca 37FS in February 2015 has been one of the worst experiences of my life. An attractive price, great ride with good visibility and utility and an unending number of repairs and problems in the house portion. The latest from this Wednesday 8/26/15 at 11,000 miles are 2 wrinkles in the roof above the driver side rear tire about 18" apart from tweaking. Confirmed by the dealer not to have been an impact. In for service 45 days out of 200 since purchase.
