I tried it on my dodge 2500 4x4 cummins. Curt front Recievr 600 pound rated carrier. Bike is a Rokon trailbreaker. Did not work for my truck , no problem weight wise big problem cooling wise!! Also you lose your headlights & turn signals. Novel idea for tc , but not worth cooking a very expensive Diesel engine. Might work for some but not for me.414Views0likes0CommentsRe: Hellwig Bigwigs
I put a hellwig sway bar on my dodge 2500 4x4 many years ago , big help. Last month I noticed one of the links had broken in half. I was ready to buy a new unit , called them , they said send a pic of the broken part. Week later ups delivered a complete installation kit , everything except the bar!!! Thinking about going back to two wheels. I usually tow my 91 Yj wrangler with my 01 dodge 2500 4x4 cummins with a six-pac camper. Truck handles the job well but I'm getting tired of dragging it along. Extra load on truck , more fuel , can't back up , ect ect. What I would like to do is carry a Rokon trail breaker on the front. Light bike , 200 pounds plus weight of carrier. According to my dodge manual this truck is rated for a 633 pound snow plow so I don't see how weight could be an issue. I have a old six-pac tc I have set up exclusively for dry camping in the desert. I live in southern nm and use it for camping in nm and az. I am into desert gold mining. I put one of the turbokool units on my tc. They work really good provided the humidity is low i.e. Less than 12 percent. You can expect around a 20 degree temp drop from the outside air temp. Low amp draw 4.5 amps , I run mine off the load terminals on my charge controller. 2 - 100 watt panels and 30 amp controller. One very important thing , do not use tap or well water!!!!! The amount of mineralization in the water will have you replacing the filter / cooling media every week. I use a pump up 2.5 gallon bottle to supply water to the unit and only distilled water. Under ideal conditions it uses about 3 gallons a day. I only use it during the day.395Views0likes0Comments
