To anyone…..how do I winterize a dishwasher ?first time winterizing my 5th wheelI've owned my Mobile Suites 5th wheel for about 4 years and have run away from the winter until this year...SO now I need to winterize for the first time...Been watching the You tube videos and understand most of it....I want to clarify a few things that might be unique to my rig...On the input, I have one switch where the city water is coming in, which I can switch to 'winterize/sanitize...Here I am assuming that I dial it to that setting and this will prevent water/antifreeze from going into the fresh water tank...Is this correct ? Then I have another switch/dial which I can change from normal to 'bypass' which is for the water heater and again, I assume will prevent antifreeze from going into the water heater.....SO after I drain the water heater and open the drain plugs underneath the rig, I plan to dial both switches to the 'correct' position....Then, I plan to pour antifreeze via a funnel into the place which takes in the city water...I 'think' I keep pouring until I hear/see antifreeze coming out underneath the rig, and then I close those valves....I then turn on the water pump and go inside and run each faucet, shower, toilet until I see pink RV fluid coming out...…...Does this all seem correct ? I am not planning to blow the lines out with air as I do not carry a compressor. Thank you for any corrections or advise......As far as my batteries go, I have four 'golf' cart batteries...I am planning on taking all four inside a warm house and putting each of them on a trickle charge......I'll put tire covers on...I'm storing the rig on concrete, so Im not thinking I need to do anything special with the tires other than making sure pressure is goodstoring my fifth wheel for a whilegoing to store my 5th wheel outside in central Florida for the next 4-5 months....I don't think I need to winterize it; all tanks will be sani-flushed and drained....My main concern is the batteries...I am thinking I simply need to disconnect the wire that is attached to the negative terminal, and that is it.....(I think my 5th wheel has a battery shut-off switch but I think I can simply leave that untouched..)…..I expect to back in late May or early June to pick the 5th wheel up and am assuming the batteries will be fine and (mostly) fully charged.....If somehow, they get drained, when I attach the 5th wheel to my truck, will I be able to operate the hydraulic jacks via my truck battery (automatically) ? Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks !!! NOTE: Did you see the "Announcement : ★★READ BEFORE POSTING HERE★★" located at the top of this forum? Re: water leak near city water hook upI may just end up letting water tank fill periodically and then dumping it. I think it took about 3-4 weeks before water came out of the water tank vent...I can probably live with that for a while, if you are right...hopefully this isn't a deteriorating situation...Re: water leak near city water hook upso, I put shut-off valve on the line and the leak into the water tank stopped; so it is definitely NOT the pump . Unfortunately, a leak has now surfaced by the diverter switch....hopefully I can just tighten a fitting that has come loose...I can't tell where it is coming from today because the drip is so slow AND we are about to get slammed by some rain, here in Florida...(I guess if the 5th wheel tips over, I wont have to worry about the leak)..Will look at when weather clearsRe: water leak near city water hook uphonestly, this is exactly where I am heading toward...I think it will work and doesn't seem particularly hard to do....And if it doesn't, a check valve on the water pump will be my second step...Re: water leak near city water hook upI will try the suggestion of using the pump tomorrow.....Thank you and to everyone else who has responded....Will give updates as appropriate for the next person who has similar problemRe: water leak near city water hook upugh....my hopes have been dashed for a quick fix.....I continue to drip out of the water tank drain hose...so at least the problem has been identified, if not the cause....I am dripping about a quart every 3 hours...so it must either be the pump or the valve that switches from city water to tank water....As I look from the outside at the switch that switches city water vs tank, there is a Philips head screw that looks like I could remove and the control switch would come off....Now I am wondering if there is any gain to doing that and then perhaps find something to tighten upRe: water leak near city water hook upSo, I toggled the switch which takes the water source and either sends it to my fresh water tank or to my fixtures....I did this about 4 or 5 times and heard the 'click' each time... I kept the drain for the tank open during the entire process....Then left the switch on the city water setting and waited to see what happened/ My luck had it that it rained all day yesterday . Anyway, I put a measuring cup under the drain last night and this morning had about 12 ounces of water in the cup....I am hoping that this was residual water still seeping out and that perhaps the problem has been solved. I will watch it today and report back...I may still look into adding that extra calve into the water pump flow, just as a precaution. Our 5th wheel was in storage for almost 6 months, so I suppose the non-use of water might have dried a seal out or something ….
