I'd have a foot or more left for storage space.Re: Awning Fabric ReplacementCall Stone Vos http://stonevoss.com/Re: Evergreen Ascend 171 RDThere's a guy here, Bumpy, that I believe has one of these. Maybe he will show up soon.Re: FlashlightCostco has a variety of them from 400 to 1500 lumens. clicky One issue, though is they are generally in muti-packs. Before I found them in the store, I bought a two-pack from Menards, on sale for IIRC, about $20. Big one is 2xD cell and small one is 2xAA cell. Both are plenty bright. Also I got 4 of their little LED lanterns, free after rebate last year. They seem to run these on special regularly. I've had a Mag-Lite for years. When the batteries leaked and ruined it, the battery company reimbursed me for the cost of a new one. Upgraded to a 3xD LED and it lights up the whole 1/4 acre back yards. The tactical ones seem good, but holy cow, I hope I'd never leave a $180 flashlight in the restroom.Re: Peachy KeenSliced peaches covered with a scoop (or two or three) of good vanilla ice cream. No cooking, no fuss, can I have a second helping, please?Blueberry MuffinsGot one of Alton Brown's books and made these yesterday. Definitely a keeper! SO says it's the best she's ever had. Blueberry muffin recipe The book, which is apparently later, has a couple of alterations. - Bake at a constant 350F for 25-28 minutes. No need to rotate if your oven has good circulation. - After adding batter to muffin pan, let it rest for 3 minutes for the baking powder to get a start on leavening process. I also recommend that you use a scrap towel or paper towel. Mine got a lot of stains from the berries. I'll probably use a wire rack next time. Getting them out right away helps the moisture escape from the bottom of the muffin.Re: 5 ways to make better homemade pizzaI've been making this recipe weekly for over 30 years: Faster than delivery pizza --------------------------- Add to small bowl: 2/3 c. warm water 2 tsp. active dry yeast 5 tsp. olive oil 1 tsp honey Stir to dissolve honey and wet yeast. Then add 1 1/2 c. flour pinch salt Stir in flour until leaves the sides of the bowl, a minute or less. Let sit 5 minutes (during this time I assemble the rest of the toppings) With oiled hands, spread on pizza stone, pizza pan or while camping, 12" cast iron dutch oven. Add favorite toppings, we use pizza sauce, pepperoni, shredded mozzarella. Sometimes sliced mushroom. Sprinkle on oregano or Italian spice mix. In season, I substitute thinly-sliced fresh tomato and add diced green/red pepper. Bake in 425F oven for 15 minutes, when cheese evenly browned. Makes enough for the two of us, scale up as needed. Makes one large thick crust pizza. Original recipe said would make two thin crust, but I don't care for that, so never tried it. Prep time 8 minutes cook time 15 minutesRe: painting cabinetsHere are some tips and techniques click here (I should add that I refinished some furniture pieces for this guy when he gave up part way through the stripping.) I would add * Prep : clean and dull * Primer : I like BIN _Shellac_ based primer (they now carry a synthetic shellac version) * Paint : Avoid inexpensive latex paint. These are prone to blocking. If you can get oil-based paint in your location (some low-VOC states make it hard to rind) I'd opt for that. There are other options but most of them require spray equipment and good ventilation.Storing your "stinky slinky"What do you all use to hold your dump hose(s) between uses? I've just been keeping it in the original cardboard box, lined with a garbage bag. But I'm wondering if something like a shallow Rubbermaid tote would work nicer. Being a TT, the storage area is under the bed and shared with other items.Re: Looking for similar floorplan? Double bed + dinettedata and floorplan here Bumpyroad wrote: my Ascend has double bed and front dinette at 17 ft weighing about 3500 lbs. the 19 footer is a better layout however. bumpy I have the 191RB and like it. Likewise looked at r-Pods and found them cramped and little storage space. My prior units were pop-ups.
