Probably done about 7k miles so far. The combinations works great! Gary Thanks Gary......Do you lock the steering on a Demco?Re: Dolly Tow 2017 VW Beetle (auto)Thanks mower, I will be using the dolly to simply drive straight thru from michigan to st. augustine florida where the house is. I'm also leaning toward a turntable type of dolly that will allow the steering wheel to remain locked and thus have no drain on the batteries or need for a disconnect switch. I'll look up the other ones you mentioned for comparison. I'm going to take the vw about an hour away to a dealer who sells Towmaster to make sure the front end doesn't hit and if it is close I know I can use a 2x6 to extend the ramps. The VW has about 8.5 inches of clearance on the front bumper to the ground.Dolly Tow 2017 VW Beetle (auto)Has anyone dolly towed a new beetle. I'm going to pick out a dolly and I believe "clearance" is an issue with some of them. Leaning toward a mastertow or acme right now but was hoping for some wisdom from the forum as i begin the search. Thanks......Re: Southwest Michigan Campgroundsyou will love Sunnybrook....very clean, close to South Haven and a short drive to Holland, Saugatuck. Nice sites, outdoor pool, easy in and out and a small grocery store right next to the campground. We've been there a dozen times when we want to visit the area.Re: One to two hours from Medina OH?Thanks all.Re: One to two hours from Medina OH?Thanks, not real comfortable leaving at a truck stop. I can look at rvparkreviews but there's so many to cover and u can't get dates they are open unless you visit the web site. One to two hours from Medina OH?We will be leaving for florida in late October and plan on spending 6 months there. I may have to run north (to Medina Ohio) in December or January. I was planning on driving the motorhome and tow vehicle part of the way back but did not want to drive the MH into snow and ice. I'm wondering if there are any campgrounds 2-3 hours south of Medina that we could park the RV at while we drive into Medina for a day to take care of business and then head back to Florida. Any suggestions in mid-ohio that is open in the winter. Not looking for anything other than a place to park the rig and plug in 50 amp. Thanks, JimRe: Bluewater RV Resort bobsinn wrote: mickey48 wrote: Joe, i will also be making this trip but from cincinnati ohio. is 41 what they call alligator alley?
