Love being able to leave the vents open without having to worry about rain.Re: Sourdough starter "storage" for 31/2 weeks...You can also freeze some in a plastic bag. Will keep up to a year. Just let it thaw and feed it they way you normally do and leave at room temp until it becomes active again.Re: thorWe have a 2015 Thor ACE 29.2 and love it. The week after we bought it we went on a nine week trip. We never felt crowded and love the floor plan. We had a few issues in the beginning and Camping World was no help. Had our unit for 5 months and never fixed it. So we contacted Thor and got approval to take it to a local dealer for repair. A week and a half later we had the coach back with all repairs completed. Thor's customer service was excellent to deal with. We wouldn't hesitate to buy another Thor product.Re: Mark me down as an unhappy camperThe roadside assistance from our insurance company covers any vehicle we're in. It's not that uncommon.Re: Issues with new coachWe purchased our 2015 ACE from Camping World in Madison and the service you're receiving is typical of that store. They had our ACE over 5 months of the first year we owned it and never did complete the warranty work. Do yourself a favor and contact Winnebago. Get your coach out of there and take it to a competent repair facility. The people in their service department could care less about the customers and the store manager would make a fantastic used car salesman. Made us all kinds of promises that he never came through on. Then hid in his office when we came to pick the coach up. After catching the service lady in another lie I contacted Thor while I was in the store. They told us to get our coach out of there and take it anywhere we wanted to get it repaired. They stood behind everything with no problem. Then as we're getting ready to leave the manager shows up to tell us to get out and never come back again. Not a problem. Camping World and Good Sam will never see another penny of our hard earned money. Let my Good Sam membership expire as well as Travel Assist (free with your FMCA membership but from a different provider). Will also not renew my Roadside Assistance when it expires (Coach Net sounds like a better provider). Buy my RV supplies from the local dealer or Amazon There are options and I refuse to support a company that's only concern is profit at the cost of customer service.Re: New Axis 24.1We had a totally opposite experience with Thor and warranty work. Purchased our ACE from Camping World in Madison. In the first year we owned it they had it for over 5 months for warranty work. Didn't get it back until it was out of warranty and things were not fixed and they actually lied about repairs that they never made. Told us that Thor had denied some warranty items also. When we contacted Thor on picking the unit up they authorized us to take it anywhere we wanted and have them contact Thor. Upon going over all the work orders from Camping World and talking with the Thor rep we found items that we were told were denied by Thor that had never been submitted to Thor. We also found repairs that weren't done but Thor was told they were completed. Thor covered all of our repairs and the local dealer said they were very pleasant to work with. So I'm curious scrubjaynest, have you actually been talking with Thor or are you receiving this information from the dealer? If it's the dealer telling you Thor won't stand behind it, I would suggest you contact Thor directly. We found them very helpful.Re: Thor ACE Model 29.4 reviews??We have a 2015 ACE 29.2 and really like it. We had a few issues just like every other new RV that we've purchased. Had a real problem trying to get Camping World to make the repairs. We contacted Thor and they had us take it to a local dealer and repairs were made in a timely manner. The local dealer said that Thor was very helpful and easy to work with. We would buy another Thor motorhome. But we wouldn't buy it from Camping World!!Re: Added gear for newer F53'sI never drive on ice or in rain with cruise control on. It's a good way to get yourself in a scary situation.Re: Motorhome stepsDo you have a magnetic switch on the door frame? Our steps wouldn't retract. Turns out the magnet was a little to far from the switch on the door frame. Grabbed the magnet and switch and squeezed them together. Steps retracted. Moved the magnet a little closer to the switch and has worked fine ever since.Re: Camping World "Something big is coming soon"Looks like a poster boy for the "Afluenza Class". They live by the new Golden Rule. They have the gold, they make the rules.
