We're right down the road in Carmel and your pig will be welcome in Santa Cruz with open arms (no permit required). In my town the stupid government just fought to get some folks to get rid of theirs. Which is sad!!!!Re: Mobs in YosemiteOn Facebook this week they said if you plan to go to the valley you need to be IN the park by 8am.Re: List of necessities?I think one thing that's helpful when you head out the first time, is to put a pad of paper near the door, and every time you say "Oh I wish I had brought: " write it down.Re: Considering a HTT- Family of 4-Please Share your Pros/ConsWe're in Carmel, California and do most of our camping in the coast. I don't' think we've ever been cold in it. It has a heater... We have been hot, but also have an air conditioner (that we installed this year, the previous owners had removed it). We love our HTT, but I don't think it's for everyone. We started in a tent, went to a popup and now a hybrid. It's not just park it and go, you have to setup and tear down (the ends) each time you move, we can do this is about 10 - 15 minutes..... We're getting to leave in 10 days for 3 weeks on the Oregon Coast (we go every year). Good luck in your search!!!!Re: Astoria Oregon KoaDoes anyone have any ideas on what is on the other side ot he bridge to Washington from Astoria? We are spending 5 nights at Ft Stevens next month and the kids want to drive over the bridge.Re: Astoria Oregon KoaWe stayed there about 5 years ago and it was fine. The pool is indoors (and small), and quite crowded, but the kids love the bouncy pillow thing. There was a weird incident with a raccoon walking around every day in the campground that they wouldn't do anything about....I'm talking mid day! So we didn't feel comfortable just letting the kids run around too much!Re: Mattress Storage? We haven't switched to memory foam complete mattresses, but we do have a 3" memory foam topper. We just roll it up and squish it into a bag after the end of trip. DURING a long road trip, we just pull the mattress (with topper) into the middle over the dining table and then push it back out (to save time).Re: insta potI use one about 4 times a week at home and love it!! I make yogurt in it and meals and hard boiled eggs....lots and lots of things!!! If anyone is looking though the official name is "Instant Pot" even though must of us call it an "Insta Pot"
