Yes the large black plastic nut you hand tighten for the large course external valve threads am waiting on the rain to stop to look for the leak once again.Re: Propane tanks mystery??? I made sure the connection valve was tight and tried again..same thing, so I turned the valve off and tried the other tank...same thing, smell of propane and hissing, also check tightness of connection. I tried pouring soapy water over the valves looking for a leak but saw nothing.I then disconnected one of the tanks and replaced it with a small tank of propane I was using for my barbque. When I turned the valve no hissing or smell of propane.I then took the larger propane bottle I had removed and attached it to my barbque..no hissing.no smell of propane..I reconnected the larger tank back on the trailer and tried again...hissing..smell of propane.I tried this procedure with the other large tank on the trailer and got the same exact results. I am at a quandary as to what the problem is...at this point I ready to just replace the two larger propane tanks with two smaller one like that are on my barbque...Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? Thank youwater heater problemsLast weekend when I camped I noticed my water heater wouldnt stay lit. Pilot light kept going out, in the middle of a heat up. I lit the pilot light, it would fire the burner, run for a couple of minutes then poof, nothing. I re lit…rang for a few more minutes then out again. This happened three times until finally it seemed to run long enough to heat the water to normal operating temperture. I checked my propane level when I got home and its almost full, so low gas couldnt be the culprit..any ideas on what I should look into? Its an atwood 5 gallon, manual light. ThanksRe: Unwanted guests, lets hear your story....Good advice, thankyou for your comments.Unwanted guests, lets hear your story....Last weekend my partner and I camped at our local KOA just for a getaway from the house. We hAave camped there several times, alone and with friends and we love the peacefulness of this particular KOA. This past weekend my partner and I drove up separately, they comming ahead of me and setting up the camper. When I arrived I noticed a man sitting in my chair talking to my partner. When I approached I realized it was the same guy who last time we camped invaded our campsite, hung around and wouldnt leave. Apparently he travels with his elderly parents which were camping this weekend and he is Mentally disabled to a degree. Last time we and our friends tried to be nice to him but he just wouldnt leave our campsite, except to go to his parents rv to eat ect. This weekend he again made his presence unwelcomed and I was almost to the point of approaching management about it or his parents. He I am guessing is about late twenties, early thirties. He would take my chair when I got up to go into the camper for something and just sat there as I stood (and Im disabled). He is not incapable of understanding what you say or follow a conversation but seems like he has trouble with social skills. What do you do in this situation when you want to have privacy when your camping and someone wanders into your campsite and wont seem to leave?Re: Portable waste tanks 2012Coleman wrote: trb46 wrote: Go to http://www.campingworld.com/ and search "portable holding tank." X2 These have handles that are specifically designed to go over a ball hitch. These have an indicator that tells you when full, and a small hose to hook into it to wash it out. I use it for Black, then Gray, using thivk rubber gloves. And while I like the fact that the Barker has a valve, the front wheels are not as sturdy. Whatever one you like, they sure come in handy. Ditto..........................best accessory I ever bought for my travel trailer, seriously. I got my barker on sale at JC Whitney with free shipping..check around on price and you can save your self some bucks.
