I'm guessing it will take $6.00 to wash the RV, at which point I'll drive it home to wax/detail it. The problem is my RV is 12ft tall and won't fit in any car washes. I'm just thinking it makes no sense that all the self serve car washes are built with short bays. Why not make a car wash 14ft tall so you have cars, trucks, semi trailers and RVs as customers? I'm in Colo Springs and there is nothing like that here. Thanks for the feedback.Re: Where are all the RV washes?I plan to wash the RV myself and don't want the expense of having someone do it for me. Looks like there are no truck washes in my area. I'm wondering if opening a self service car wash with 16ft tall bays near the interstate would attract RVers? Trucks, RVs and cars could all use the wash. Is this a needed business? Any thoughts?Where are all the RV washes? There are car washes all over the place. None are tall enough to fit an RV. Does anyone use a high-bay car wash to wash their class A, C, 5th wheel or truck camper in Colorado?Re: dually 2 wheel drive in snow with TC on4WD Dually trucks are absolutely horrible in the Winter. I bought a huge double-slide truck camper and needed to buy a dually for it due to weight requirements. I've now realized the camper isn't usable in the Winter thanks to my dually, especially going up the mountains to go ski in Colorado where it snows daily. I'm going to be selling the truck and the camper and going back to a SRW long bed and lighter camper. I like to use the camper year-round and not worry about snow and ice. This will be the first and last dually I'll ever own.Re: Truck camping in Summit County Colorado?Solution found! I visited Copper Mountain for skiing last week and discoverd that they allow RVs to stay overnight for free in their parking lot and I talked with an RVer to confirm this. It is near the slopes and within a short walking distance to a restaurant/bar. It's a very large parking area so there is privacy also. Glad to find and share this! It's located here: https://www.google.com/maps/dir//39.4975191,-106.1364778/@39.4975535,-106.1366899,377m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m3!4m2!1m0!1m0Re: Truck camping in Summit County Colorado? All FS camping is closed in the area. You can't park overnight in the ski lots. I smell business opportunity for someone that starts a KOA here, it's much neededTruck camping in Summit County Colorado?I am looking for a place to park overnight in or near Breckenridge or Vail during ski season. I called the city of Breckenridge and they informed me RVs are not allowed overnight within the city and they recommended Tiger Run RV Resort. So I called Tiger Run and they do NOT allow truck campers (outlawed by their HOA). What?! So I called Walmart in Frisco and you cannot park an RV overnight. It's like all of Summit County is set-up to force RV'ers to pay $300 a night for a hotel! Where the heck do truck campers park overnight when skiing in Summit county or Vail? Any help here would be greatly appreciated RobRe: Trip to ColoradoI would most definitely NOT take I-70. The weather is usually bad at Eisenhower tunnel (the continental divide), and the traffic almost always stinks, especially on weekends! Instead, I would take Hwy 24 at Colorado Springs and then Hwy 9 at Harzel. This route is very scenic, mostly long and straight roads, and all blacktop. It takes you into the town of Breckenridge. It's much shorter than dealing with I-70. You'll thank me later. Be sure to stop at the rest stop at Wilkerson Pass for the incredible views (not really much of a pass, roads are straight and easy for the most part). Rob
