I only run the slide in and out and lift the power jacks at the front and stabilizer jacks. I'll run the radio every so often in the yard, but that's it at the house30 Amp PlugSo my TT is going on 3 years old now, used several times a year, nothing crazy, and I am about to install my third 30 plug head. As I hold the plug in my hand, prongs facing me, the one on the left side has twice scorched. This last time, it was also loose. I don't know if it is the quality of the replacement head the service center installed, or if I have an issue with the cord or wiring in the TT itself. The factory installed plug lasted 2 seasons, and this second one lasted a few outings. I am about to replace it with my third. I plug it into 30 amp sockets at campgrounds, I plug it into the 30 amp slot on my generator when needed (did not use the generator this year), and I do occasionally put on the 110 adaptor to plug it in at the house. Any thoughts as to what could be the cause of this issue?Re: Looking for OpinionsThanks for all of the insight. The original thought behind this post was to get opinions as far as: a) Drive truck and tow Trailer or b) Drive MH and tow a vehicle. All I was looking for was preferences, pros v cons of each. This was not intended to be a discussion on money, but all of your responses really make you think about priorities when it comes to toys. Am I debt free? no. Would I like to be, Sure! This discussion morphed into a financially responsible discussion very quickly, and I appreciate that. You have given me things to think about. I have not convinced myself to make a change as of yet, I was just thinking out loud that my truck is a tad small for my current TT, and wanted to hear thoughts about switching things up a bit. Always a great discussion on here, I appreciate all of the points of view. If I did decide to make a change, I like the idea of downsizing my TT to one my current truck can handle and go from there.Re: Looking for OpinionsNot a debt issue, just a money conscious consumer. Do I want to invest in a better truck and continue to tow my TT or do I want to invest in a Class C or A and tow a vehicle I already own. Again, not a budgetary or financial issue. Just looking for opinions.Looking for OpinionsIs it better to buy a truck to tow a TT or 5er or buy a Class C or A and tow a car? Reson for the question, I have a truck towing a TT right now, I need to upgrade my truck very soon. It is too small (IMO) for the trailer. If I add up my current truck payments and my current TT payment, it is quite hefty. Any new truck will increase that payment. VS taking that total payment for the two, and purchase a Class C or A or even a Diesel pusher and tow a car that I already own. Thoughts?Re: Sticking LeverGreat responses! I will start with the lubricating the shaft after pulling the levers out. I will also use the treatment that gets poured into the tanks. If that fails, will make a trip to my repair shop and replace them (I am not mechanically inclined at all) Thanks!Sticking LeverGood Morning, Last time we went out, after hooking up to the sewer line at the campground, my black tank lever was super hard to open. Not sure why or what preventative maintenance can be done to ensure proper operation of the levers to open and close both the black and grey tanks. Worked fine (although difficult to close when the weekend was over). I have not messed with it since getting back home. Any thoughts as to why the black tank would be difficult to open and close during the summer? Thanks,Re: Winterizing with Air this timeAwesome Responses! I will go for the air process this year to try it out. I can go anywhere and get an air compressor (with adjustable PSI) Is 50 psi the way to go? 30 psi? and then pour some Pink into the drains for the traps and black tank.
