These are not shackles but are oversized bump stops that attach to the truck frame above the axle where the factory bump stops were. They are most commonly used on pickups that haul salt and plows for snow and ice control. They are easy to install and we got the heavy duty ones, there were two sizes available for our truck.Re: Dometic A/C compressor kicks offIt was a faulty start capacitor. Seems odd to me that it would fail in only 8 months. Oh well, RVing is always an adventure.Re: Dometic A/C compressor kicks offThanks for the info, I did get a tech to come out tomorrow. The rig is 6 months old and the front air works fine. The rear begins as normal with the fan and when the compressor comes on it immediately kicks off and the fan continues to run. There's lot's to do, and the rates are lower than over by the coasts. We'll be staying at the Lake Letta RV Park in Avon Park/Sebring. We've got a number of Ohio, Indiana and Michigan folk at the park. You might want to consider making some reservation, since a lot of the parks fill-up in the winter. Ours was mostly full last winter, although there were always a couple of "overnight" spaces available. Thanks for the invite, we'll check it out.
