Late June trip with 42 ft fifth wheel just me and the wife.Re: Need help narrowing down 5th wheelWe had to TT last one 36 ft long just went to a fifth wheel we have grandkids and there parents that come with us some times so we needed a rig to sleep 8. We wanted outside kitchen also becuase had that on last two TT all the new ones the outside kitchens dont compare to what we had we got lucky found a used 2018 Jayco 347 BHOK that was owned by three sisters it looks like brand new inside and out, outside kitchen like we had in the past big frig, sink and pull out stove. We were going to buy new but this came up and we grabbed it not cheap but at least 30 to 40 thou below new comparable rig. We have a 21 Ram 3500 DSL dually so have enough truck for this 42 ft rig. Mega cab with 6 ft 4 inch bed went with pullrite auto slider can turn 90 degrees and not even close to the cab. There are great used ones out there just have to look and it is always better to have to much truck than not enough. It is my daily driver also not that hard to get around when you get used to it. All kind of hitch options available do your research on internet and youtube very helpful info out there. Good luck.Re: Help me plan our trip - The DakotasDecent campground at Wall drug leave the rig there and drive the badlands go way to spend a day, Corn palace is nice to see and nice campground just on the west side of Mitchell right off the interstate. Depending how far west you are going when we stayed in Deadwood made a day trip to Devils tower pretty neat to see.Sankoty Lakes?Daughter is wanting to go camping at Sankoty Lakes campground east side of river by Peoria Il. There website has not photos anybody been there and have any comments?Additional fuel tankI have a 2021 Ram dually DSl mega cab just bought our first fifth wheel Jayco 347 BHOK which is 42 ft long last TT was 36 ft long so length behind truck not much different but would like to add a seperate fuel tank to the bed of truck looks like smallest i can find right now would be about 38 gallons which would be ok. My thoughts are putting in back of truck next to front of bed would like to run a line to gravity feed into existing tank with a valve that i could open when tank gets towards empty. With that setup I could run all day without trying to find a gas station with easy in out for this long of a rig. Hope would be to find stop for the night set up unhook and go get fuel without rig behind. Anybody done this or having any idea's on my thoughts. The big 50 gal tank is not an option for the megacab shortbeds.New truck build timeOrdered new 21 Ram 3500 Dsl Dually on Dec 28 was told 6 to 10 weeks well 11 weeks have past and I dont know when I will get it. Talked to dealer again today they are supposed to get ahold of factory rep and maybe get some info tomorrow. Shortly after ordering I got e mail with VIN and was able to go to Ram forum site found a site to type in VIN and got my build sheet but nothing new dealer keeps telling me that they dont know anything. I am pressuring them to try and get me some kind of update as to why and or when truck will be done. It is a fairly heavily optioned Laramie but doesnt include everything by no means. Could not find what we wanted anywhere so had to order wanted the 21 since they went back to the older CP 3 to eliminate problems from the CP 4. Have a new topper ordered payed for and sitting at suppliers shop for install when I get the truck. I know its not the dealers fault but the frustration level is getting pretty high. I'm hoping the dealer doesn't try and increase price from the negotiated price he has my deposit and I have only put about 400 miles on my trade-in but we will see. So if any one looking to buy new would recommend buying off a lot or be prepared for a long wait. What is the most irritating to me is that they have not bothered to reach out with info as to status.Re: 2022 F350 on orderGood luck with your new truck I ordered a new 2021 Ram 3500 Dually Dsl Dec 28 been 11 weeks and still no truck and no indication when hope to have it before 2022. Get more frustrated by the day dealer is supposed to be getting back to me with some update tomorrow.Ram 2021 questionsGoing to get a new Ram Have a 2012 3500 Dually going to go to a 3500 crew cab 8 ft bed SRW, is the HO worth the 3 thousand upgrade over the standard cummins. I have the high output on my dually but torque is 800 # so is it worth it or not. Also have a 4:10 rear end on existing but thinking 3.73 on new one would like a little better mileage when not towing. Have loved the dually for pulling our 36 ft TT but going to go to a fifth wheel and not anything huge usually just me and wife with grandkids visiting some times. SRW will make daily driving a little easier.Hitch reccomendationsGoing to get our first fifth wheel rig we are looking at has a GVWR of 11,250 and a GCWR of 14,250. Have a 2012 Dodge 3500 DSL Dually with the megacab. Would like a automatic slider since we have the 6.5 ft bedRe: Advice on Trailer to be left on propertyRun your power to location for trailer put in a central service main breakers and meter, power can then be run from there to anywhere on the property at a later date.
