Went to get my propane tanks filled today and found out they expired in 2013, 4 years before I bought my 2017 model camper new off the lot. They would not fill them. The test date was 2003 (expires 2013). Feeling kinda cheated. They told me it would cost $120.00 to get new, filled bottles. I would be upset! I would call the dealer and complain, if I we're going camping soon, I would do the propane exchange and still ride the dealer.Re: I Think I'm Outta HereTry owning a hybrid, check out that forum.Re: Northern Michigan adviceIf you've never been, definitely visit Mackinac island, you're so close. Sleeping Bear Dunes national park Lakeshore is great, but it's somewhat of a hike from your destination this year, everything from Frankfort to Empire to historic Glen Haven and Glen Arbor. Awesome beaches at Frankfort, Empire, Esch Rd, Peterson Rd, North Bar Lake etc. You have youngsters, the dune climb, floating down the Platte River to the mouth at Lake Michigan, the old blacksmith barn and historic general store in Glen Haven. Everything along the M119 from Harbor Springs to Wilderness Point. Night view of the Mackinac bridge from Mackinaw City or St. Ignace. The locks in the Soo. Munising. Pictured Rocks boat tour, shipwreck boat tour plus nice beaches and waterfalls. Wait a minute, I need a vacation!Re: Bunk Seal, removing old residueI feel your pain. I've tried many of your removal attempts. Ended up using a bronze wire wheel in a drill after a quick scrape on a goo gone soaked tape residue. My bunk end frame on the trailer is aluminum painted white, therefore the wire wheel also removed the paint, but the new seal mostly hid the bare aluminum where the wire wheel hit outside the seal channel. My RV is a 2006 KZ hybrid.Re: Cleaning CanvasI know rubbing alcohol cleans a vinyl coated exterior bunk end with great results. I only did this in small areas that I needed to patch due to mice chewing through the tent ends, so I cannot speak to the affect on the water proofing of the material, but the area's I cleaned looked like new and this is on 13 year old material that I haven't really cleaned before and it is vinyl, so I don't expect any adverse results. This was on white bunk end tops. It removed pine tree sap, bird droppings and whatever else. I'm considering soaking an orbital polishing tool with rubbing alcohol and cleaning the entire bunk end top ( yeah I have time for that).Re: Antigua 215sb Roof Repair...updatedNice save, creative and well done. Are you patching in the roofing or a complete re_do?Re: Kidde Fire Extinguisher Recall Do you have one in your RV?We have probably 75 fire extinguishers between our fab plant and on site locations and never once have I heard that a fire extinguisher needs to be shaken to remain viable. We recertify fire extinguishers every year. Even if a fire extinguisher needed to be shaken, one would think traveling down the road would provide adequate agitation. I call BS on this. My RV supplied FE after 11 years is out of the good range on the dial, but that would be normal!Re: Hybrids must be hibernatingAnd so my hybrid was winterized and taken to it's deep sleep in my BIL's outbuilding for it's hibernation.Re: Hybrids must be hibernating gheicher wrote: Just winterized mine. The hot water tank drain plug is plastic and a pain to get at, so I purchased a small stainless steel ball valve from Ebay to replace the plastic plug. I like to drain the hot water tank after use to keep the water from getting stinky just sitting around. Now all I have to do is just flip a valve to drain. Nice though for me to drain the HW tank is to remove the anode.Re: Hybrids must be hibernating Oasisbob wrote: We were out last weekend. Some of the best camping is after Labor Day & before Christmas in our opinion. We are never cold in the hybrid. Feels like home as long as we have no noisey neighbors that is I agree. We've camped in ours when it's been in the 20's at night and the heater kept it just fine inside. Even a little ceramic electric heater works pretty well. Both these options I need electricity as my furnace blower can suck battery juice quickly and I've found without nearly fully charged batteries, the furnace will not fire. Cool weather makes one really appreciate a good campfire. And alot less people!
