It is my understanding CR only used this particular material only two years. On every slide out roof, where the rubber wiper wiper touches the roof, the material has bubbled up and developed holes in it. Of course, the roof manufactuer has never seen this before. Has anyone else experienced this?Hitchhiker fith wheel tire wearMy neighbor made a trip to Iowa this summer. When he returned, he showed me how his tires were worn.....all four on the inner most tread. My opinion is the camber is out on the axles. Possible causes....I'm thinking maybe weight. I know there are folks on here with experience in this area. What say ye?B & W hitch coverLooking for a cover for my B&W RVK3500 hitch. I called customer service, but they had no clue what brands might fit. Any tips here?Re: B/W Companion Slider Sticking in Truck BedI had the same issue. I ended up getting under the truck and using a hammer to release it. Found the rod had rusted. (on the coast...everything rusts) Lubed it good with Heavy Duty Corrosion X, and it worked great.Re: G-rated 235/85/16 Hartland (all steel) Trailer TireThe Hartlands will be our next tires. I've meant to have already replaced them, but our situation has changed. IIRC, the road hazard is included in the price at Discount Tire. I found out when I purchased Nitto Dura Grapplers for the truck recently. And they will definitely match prices.Re: Staying at the beach rustI wouldn't recommend Galveston, but would Fluid Film. We've been on the lower coast (Rockport/Aransas Pass for 9 years. I tried various things on our first fifth wheel....it still rusted. We moved back on the water 11/2015, so I started looking at other products. I ran across a fellow on Mustang Island that sprays the Fluid Film. Several of us in ICW RV Park had our frames sprayed. Very pleased with the results. Plans are to spray every six months or so. Fluid Film is available at our local Lowe's. I bought a can when I first found it through my research. I sprayed the rusty metal handle of a garden shovel my wife has. Days later, I scraped the rust off, and the film had penetrated the rust. I'm sold on it. There are other issues to be addressed on the beach. I changed all the exterior screws on our previous fifth wheel to a high grade stainless, and have started doing so on our Rushmore. Another thing is the AC coils. The salt atmosphere will eat the aluminum fins on the condenser. I have looked at several coil protection sprays, but have not decided which one to try yet. Hope this helps!Re: Sailun s637 235/80/16 G rated tires Helmsey wrote: If you have a local Discount Tire they should be able to order them for you. I tried that with no luck.Re: Which detergent To use in Splendide washing machineDW emailed Splendide about using pods....a no no. Ours has a flip out thing to pour liquid detergent in. And.....I was concerned about the carpet too. We put a rug over the carpet in case of spills.Re: Tires again.....Hartland by Discount Tire darsben1 wrote: Isn't HARTLAND discount tires house brand? Why yes it is! "Hartland trailer tires are sold exclusively by Discount Tire Direct. We created the brand to deliver an excellent combination of value and quality. You will find that Hartland tires are available in the most popular sizes and they have been made to stand up to heavy use. Quality materials and advanced engineering go into every Hartland tire to ensure it withstands extreme conditions and delivers long wear." So with these tires you could be getting the deal of the century or the dog of the year. All depends on how much oversight a company like Discount tire is willing to put into the Chinese companies manufacturing procedure. Does discount tire have feet on the ground in China making sure the correct compounds are put into the formula? China has a rep for bad tires BUT I REPEAT BUT: the quality of a Chinese tire is directly related into the oversight the company ordering puts into the manufacturing process. Michelin even makes tire in China (although not for U.S. market yet). So my feeling here is the guy is touting the house brand. It was clear to me they were the Discount Tire house brand. That's why in the subject line I put "Hartland by Discount Tire". I'm gonna be the guinea pig here.....If no one ever buys them, or reports back, we'll never know whether they are good or not. The all steel have an M speed rating (81 mph). I don't tow anywhere near that fast, but I like that better than the 65mph ST rating. Someone mentioned they looked like the Gladiator tires. I don't know about that, but I have seen some good reports on Gladiator tires. I know all tires will fail, but with the GY failures I know about, and what my RV service man tells me about the GY failures he has seen, I'm not gonna fork out over 350 bucks a tire for them. Like I said, I'll report back after I get them and put a couple trips on them. Waiting now on a stress crack repair.
