All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsRe: Avoiding information overload while full time travelingAnother one to keep in mind is the national parks. Through the national park service web site or at the first visitor center you stop at as there is a wealth of info on all of the parks and monuments. If you are on the interstate highways going from one state to another the welcome centers have a lot of info.Re: I-10 California to Florida.FYI, Anyone going through the area in CA where the bridge was washed out should have no concerns as the only slow down is at the construction site. East bound is moved to the west bound bridge one lane each way. The only slow down was the construction speed (45mph). CHP is there. Several cars found out. Traveling in the rig pulling the toad to CA and back to AZ was uneventful. Just some rough surface areas.Re: Wiper Arm PartsThanks all for this post. I have a broken wet arm nozzle and the link to Rome Truck solved my search. Thanks again, SteveRe: Redmond OR to Portland OR - US26??We have been over the pass many times to visit family in the Portland area. Most recent was last summer and the route never has presented any problems just a wonder trip. Our only disappointment is when the cloud cover is low an you can't see Mt Hood. Enjoy the trip. SteveRe: Traveling to Montana, Wyoming and back to Rapid City, SDI just noticed one thing about your route. You show your route from West Glacier to East Glacier as a direct route. There is a length limit on that route. The problem is the road goes up (the garden wall). Narrow road with hair pin turns. Do not miss it however as it is beautiful. Take your toad or enjoy even better on one of the trams/buses. To get from west to east you will need to go around the park to the south. Have a great trip as it is always beautiful.Re: Input Requested - New ToadWe pull a 2010 Honda Fit Automatic. Pulled it 6000 miles this year. Out to the west coast and around the Midwest. No problems and pulls like a dream. Going out west we decided last minute to take along our pellet smoker. Folded up the rear seats and loaded it in the backseat area. Love our Fit. Best advice is to test all that you are considering to purchase.Re: Bend to Eugene - crossing the CascadesDesert Captain, 242 is still a scenic route but I would not chance it in a big rig. I would check with CG or the ranger station in McKenzie Bridge. The improvements may be more than I realize since I haven't been back there after the improvements. Again, Check locally. 126/20 is still a wonderful route. Note massive amounts of envy. Enjoy the trip. SteveRe: Bend to Eugene - crossing the CascadesHaving driven all those routes many times in all kinds of weather and cars/trucks/rvs. I would take 20 to 126 (McKenzie Hwy) to Eugene/Springfield. You pickup 126 after the summit. Very nice drive and the most direct route. Enjoy. SteveRe: Caldwell, ID to Sisters, ORI'll vote for Hwy 26 since we took that route in June. The DW had never been overland to OR and she was in awe of the scenery. Hwy 26 is a two lane highway with narrow spots and some curves. A few small towns with slow speed limits. Take your time and enjoy. We also stayed in Caldwell ID at Ambassador RV and highly recommend it.Re: 2000 Dutch Star ReviewWe just bought a 2004 and are on a 4000+ mile trip. We just love our Dutch Star. The craftsmanship is excellent. We have found no issues with ours except self induced and nothing with the coach. If it hasn't been abused and the price is right put it on the serious considering list. With anything look at it very carefully. Good Luck!
