Appreciate the help.Propane Hose BlockedI bought a 6' propane hose extension to run a small gas grill off a bigger tank. I have been using the extension hose in place of the small canisters for less than a year. After a recent refill of my larger propane tank, the grill suddenly had very low flame and was basically useless. I reverted back to small canisters and the grill worked fine. Replaced the regulator hoping to use the extension hose again - same result. Switched propane tanks - same result. Both propane tanks work fine on my other gas grill. My deduction - extension hose is blocked. Tried to blow it out with the compressor - no help. I've heard sludge from the tank can block these things up. Any hope of salvaging or just toss it? Thanks.Re: Rain Water Leak Diagnosis fj12ryder wrote: That looks very much like the damage I had to repair this last summer. My problem was caused by the poor sealing done around the vent flashing on the outside. There was no sealant around the top part of the flashing and water would come in, run down the wall and soak the wood. You couldn't tell a thing was wrong until the floor was gone. No stain, no swelling. The wall below the vent also had to be replaced. That was a real pain. Thank you for your insights. And for anyone keeping score: I took out an electrical plug in that wall - directly above the damage - to get a look inside that wall. No signs of water in the wall and the insulation was completely dry. Diagnosis continues....Re: Rain Water Leak DiagnosisThank you all! Input much appreciated!Re: Rain Water Leak DiagnosisHere's another pic. Not pictured is an aluminum strip I removed prior to photographing that provided a finished edge over the vinyl and the black steel frame of the ramp door. I'm a little curious that water was leaking through the ramp door seal, under that aluminum strip, and then under the vinyl (thereby not visible on top of the vinyl)?? Rain Water Leak DiagnosisIn the course of my 2008 Sandstorm remodel, I started removing the vinyl floor yesterday. I found the pictured water damage (which was very wet from a good rain the night before). The water content was most dense nearest the ramp door. I have never noticed any water on the vinyl floor in this area and was completely unaware of the leak. This makes me think its possibly running down inside the wall. Anyone have any experience or insights to offer before I start tearing things apart? Re: Outdoor Speaker ReplacementThanks all!Re: 2008 Sandstorm Remodel - Exterior Finish Recommendations? Dennis58 wrote: Data Point; LINE-X will add like 500 lbs" - False, We spray exteriors around 65mils on average. At that thickness you achieve the tough coating you want and don't add a significant amount of weight. Less than 90 lbs on average for a full size vehicle completely sprayed. About as much weight as your cooler stocked with "sodas" and ice. Insightful information - Thank you. Of course I would not be spraying the roof or windows on the trailer so the surface area is just a percentage of the entire rig. Regardless, I see the weight calculations mentioned are at least somewhat of a consideration. Is the surface prep on a corrugated aluminum RV likely to make application cost prohibitive? I've started to remove decals (what a pain) but I'm inclined to pay a team of professionals just to get the exterior completely redone. Thanks for your input.Outdoor Speaker ReplacementMany months ago I solicited input on this forum for ideas to replace the outdoor speakers on our 2008 toy hauler. The factory speakers had disintegrated and I was not interested in replacing them with more speakers. I was looking for something else to fill the 5+" round holes. I was not interested in loud outdoor music anyway, and mostly listen to music via my cell phone around camp. We also have a Bluetooth speaker should we need it. Having received only sarcastic responses on the forum, I set about formulating my own plan, and I thought I would share the idea. I bought two 8" circles of frosted 1/4 acrylic plastic. I also purchased two 120mm LED halo lights. I used clear liquid adhesive to mount the halo lights behind the round acrylic circles. I used the existing speaker wires to run 12v to the LED halo lights. The project provides some interesting accent lighting as you can see in the photos below. Surely this is not for everyone, but since I am happy with the outcome I thought I would post the idea for others who might be interested. Happy camping! The prep is labor intensive along with the masking. Not fun prepping a corrugated surface, but essentially for proper bonding. Thank you for the input!
