DW bought several LED night lights and plugged them into several outlets. They all melted within days. I figured she just got cheapo night lights so I bought more from Lowes. They melted around the LED also. When we replaced our Norcold fridge with a new residential Frigidare, I installed a new Magnum PSW inverter. We got more LED night lights and they worked fine for years after that.Re: Electric Fire PlacesWe also enjoy the one in our rig. It heats pretty well and the fake flames actually look pretty real.Re: Alliance 5th Wheels goducks10 wrote: FlatBroke wrote: Three ACs and no seat in the shower. :h 3 AC's because there's no ducting. I believe Alliance uses 3 AC's because someone there recognized that 2 AC's may not be adequate in hot weather. I have a 2019 GD Solitude with 2 15K ducted AC units and we have problems getting it cool in hot and humid weather. That is with awnings deployed and sun shades on all windows exposed to direct sun. Grand Design should at least pre wire for a 3AC unit on their larger 5th wheels so the owner could easily add a 3rd AC if desired.Re: removing antenna ??Our 2019 rig has the Jack antenna and it is nowhere near as effective as the old style Winegard Batwing antenna. I would do what is necessary to reseal, fix the existing antenna. Or, replace it with a new Batwing.Re: I need a large 5th wheel but am I looking too large?Agree with the suggestion to check with New Horizons. They will build you what you want but it will be expensive. Also, their rigs are heavy so you will certainly be needing more than the F350. Most of the New Horizons I've seen are being towed by crew cab Freightliners.Re: Battery replacement brandsIf you don't want to fool with battery maintenance (checking water levels, topping off, dealing with corrosion due to gassing) go with AGM batteries. As noted, Lifelines are hard to beat. Full River is another brand that holds up well. I'd go with two pairs of 6volt GC batteries (each pair wired in series to make 12V). Sam's sells Duracel AGM's that are reasonable priced. If you don't care how much you spend, go with lithium.Re: Grand Design purchaseWe got a 2019 Solitude in Nov 2018 for 26% off the MSRP. Check with Campers Inn RV. They have many locations but not sure any in Texas. Another dealer that seemed to have good pricing on GD was General RV. RV Trader is a good place to look.Re: Slide out topper fabricStone Vos is outstanding. Excellent fabrics, service and reasonable prices. They don't post prices since every order is custom made. Once you give them your measurements and select the fabric, they will give you a price.Re: 50amp surge protector ?I have the inline Progressive Industries 50amp model. Been using it for about 6 months and it has been in some serious heavy rain and so far it is working fine.Skirting MaterialI will soon be placing our 5th wheel on a permanent site and plan to skirt it. I am curious what material others have used for this. I want it to look nice. I am thinking some sort of vinyl material is my best bet.
