Wife prefers a hanging bag by the toilet area. For those curious, 1990's Coachmen B vans had a style with a rear bathtub, so yes, there is such a thing as a Class B bathtub (ours has the rear dinette/bed instead).Re: Atlas MapsI use GPS at times (sometimes heavily), and don't mean to insult anyone and their preferences, but maps really put your whole route, surroundings, and the world in complete perspective, while GPS puts major blinders on (my wife and I outright say GPS makes us, well, you know). May road maps live forever! I love them so much, I have vintage U.S. and European road maps prominently in my antique business inventory. I have always gone with the inexpensive promotional big box store versions of atlases(KMart, Walmart, etc.). I like the idea of spiral, a major positive feature. I have gone so far as cutting a few pages out and putting them in plastic sleeves for a specific trip, when that helps keep packing light.Re: Where do you put your lawn chairsOverhead storage/bunk, which not everyone has. Otherwise, would be in back door, between dinette seats (bed conversion). We plan to keep the rear bed made more often in transit now. Overhead storage is great, but probably costs gas mileage.Re: Unicorn hunting - Assistance neededThe custom made B's could address this desire. I am not sure about Sportsmobile either way on this issue, but you should inquire. I do know that when my family received a tour of the Advanced RV facilities in Willoughby, Ohio a little over a year ago, one of their custom projects underway was a heavily insulated van interior for winter travel. I don't recall hearing how they were addressing the plumbing, but it's likely that they had some custom plans on that. I would definitely give both a call. Custom equals $$, but it also equals freedom and addressing specific needs. Good Luck.Re: Class B Rally QuestioncheersRe: Class B Rally QuestionRozzie1944: Actually, the sticky here is very devoid of current information. As My Roadtrek mentioned, there is a discussion thread on the Rally forum here at RV.net. For some reason, the moderator here in the B discussion has a real hair trigger to move any mention of a possible B gathering, and the B Rally, out of this area (Class B forum) as soon as possible. So probably expect this particular thread discussion will be moved over to the Rally forum. So please join us there in that forum, if needed. Also, be sure to check out the B Rally website here: http://www.b-rally.org/index.htm As you explore that website, be sure to check previous year rallies, to see photos, events, meals, sponsors, locations, etc. It is a GREAT group of people. My wife and I are still relative newbies, and I already volunteer to help (2017 will be just our 3rd year, and it is now a favorite event). Many new attendees are welcomed each year and have a great time, in my observations. So please plan to join us in May 2017. The website will have information updated every so often, and then the forum thread will have discussion every so often as well, picking up in activity as time goes on. So please feel free to ask any questions, it just helps to get the conversation going! Cheers!Re: Class B VersatilityFrom me, as a wordy poster, a three word response: TWO THUMBS UP!Re: My B and a question?Great B! Great Dodge. As an owner of a Coachmen with a bed up there, I like a lot. I think we have to see the interior photos though. Also, my question is, that is a lot of front surface. What gas milage? I get about 13 mpg with the coachmen, and really want to be at 14 at a minimum.Re: InsuranceI haven't had time to look this up for names and details, but we contacted Good Sam Insurance to shop around for us, and we got a very good rate. I usually don't go that route without verification of value, but this was definitely a great price they found for me. Less than a couple hundred for the year if I remember correctly, with roadside assistance (I have spotless record). I checked our existing auto insurance just to compare, and they were about twice as high. So in your searching definitely check the Good Sam insurance service, which searches several companies.Re: NEWBIE Needs Help: Pleasureway, ROADTREK, WinnebagoFor full time living, I think you are right to look at lights, airiness, windows. Our older model does seem fairly closed up when inside, and I love photos of the light and view in newer models. 4 season living needs that comfort level inside. I like all the models you are considering from research, but not ownership. All three companies are good, and those models are generally well liked. As far as the investment, do your research, and drive a hard bargain. It is near the end of the model year. I won't drone on about consumer buying techniques, but there are many. Ask if you want bargaining ideas from folks here. But briefly, don't be in a hurry to buy, don't show any weakness, the decision to pull the trigger is yours, and you control the final price if you want to. Good Luck. Let people here know what you do with your time though (work, what field; independently wealthy; other).
