The metal strip at the bottom of the slide needs to be taken off and reattached with new caulk strip and new screws. Then I would suggest that you get 5" Eternabond tape and cover the strip starting approx 1 1/2 inch above the strip and wrap over the metal strip and onto the bottom of the slide. Eternabond will seal the area from future water if it's not too late.Re: I need a good disposable glove solution for dumping holstein13 wrote: Have any of you found a good disposable glove that you are happy with to keep in your water bay? I've got two problems with the cheap box of gloves I found at Home Depot: They are hard to put on because they are so tight and I haven't found a simple and elegant solution for hanging them on the door inside the bay to keep them dry. I rarely use gloves to work with the dump procedures, instead I keep a container of disposable disinfective wipes in the compartment which I use to clean my hands when finished. There are many wipes available in pop up plastic containers at Walmart or your local grocery stores.Re: Scare light query Thumb wrote: Just bought a 2012 Montana It Has a scare light swt on the panel The scare light / flood light will not turn off and the inside swt stays illuminated No matter if the swt is in the on or off position I've tried turning swt on then wait a couple minutes then turning off ..but this doesnt turn off light How the heck do I turn the scare light off? Thanks That fifth wheel is like mine and you should have a remote control that is used for stabilizers, awning, etc, it also controls the scare light. You need to turn the scare lights off with the remote then everything should work normallyRe: Condensation During Winter Storage Mocoondo wrote: Place a big Home Depot bucket full of charcoal in the middle of your coach. That will be more than sufficient to control moisture during your off season. Rock salt works also, Salt absorbs water.Re: Hydraulic slide problem rrbowman wrote: I have a 2010 Montana with 4 slideouts that are all controlled with 1 switch. when connected to electric I have no issues, but when on battery power the last slide comes in probably 6 inches then stops, I let off the switch and then press again and it comes in another 6 inches. I keep this up until fully in. Naturally this is the LR slide that is the largest and heaviest. I think it is a battery capacity issue but just want to know if anyone has experienced this and what they found out. Thank everyone for their help. Looks like the battery needs replaced. I bought unit used so I didn't know what battery was in it. I will replace with a higher capacity batteryRe: Hydraulic slide problem jsr21 wrote: Very common...you have a weak breaker. They are auto resets and trip when the get warm/hot. After 3-5 seconds they cool enough to auto reset and then work again until they trip again....a $10 fix. Look for it/them on the positive cable coming off your battery. There may be 2-3 of them. Have someone else hold down your slide button and you put your fingers on the breakers. You'll feel it go click when it trips...that's the one you need to replace. Click here for image Thanks, I'll check them out.Re: Hydraulic slide problem RustyJC wrote: Well, if it works on battery power with the converter helping but not on battery power alone, then I'd suspect that the battery is either going bad, not getting fully charged or undersized for the job. Rusty As far as charging goes, I have just replaced the converter with a new 3 stage converter, the original went bad, noisey and not keeping steady voltage. I will check the battery out real good, it might not be the right battery. May need a battery with more amp hours.Re: Hydraulic slide problem newman fulltimer wrote: You need a new batt and need to clean the railsand use some dry lube That's what I am leaning toHydraulic slide problemI have a 2010 Montana with 4 slideouts that are all controlled with 1 switch. when connected to electric I have no issues, but when on battery power the last slide comes in probably 6 inches then stops, I let off the switch and then press again and it comes in another 6 inches. When I hit the switch to bring it in one of the living room slides snugged up then the bedroom slide came in. What would allow the slides to drift. Been parked and plugged in since last trip about 2 weeks ago. Also hydraulic fluid level looked good. I have a Montana with 4 slideouts and had the same issue and the repair shop had to replace 2 hydraulic rams. They were Lippert rams and the repair shop called Lippert and they gave them instructions on how to diagnose the problem. Lippert also offered to give me the procedure but I told them that the dealer was working on it so they called them. Problem solved.
