The truck in the video is a 2020, but mine was the same. I was able to get both the coax cable for the camera and the larger harness disconnected without any other component removal. There were a couple wire retainers that needed to be removed as well. Removing tailgate 2020 Chevy Silverado (youtube.com) Re: slight vibration on accelerationMy first guess and easiest to diagnose would be U-joints or a carrier bearing on the driveshaft. Usually longer vehicles have a carrier bearing to support the driveshaft.Re: 6.6 Chevy gas engineI don't know if this helps much but since you haven't received any other responses... I've had my 2024 6.6 gas with 10 speed transmission for 3 months now. I only have 3,000 miles on it, but it has all been towing 8,000-14,000 lbs for work. No problems so far and it is a vast improvement in towing over my 2012 6.0 with 6 speed. Not that I thought the 2012 was bad at towing, its just the 6.6 and 10 speed makes it feel totally effortless in comparison. My father in law has a 2020 6.6 with the 6 speed with nearly 80,000 miles on it now and he has not had any trouble with it. Hope this helps MikeRe: Broken Frame on a RAM 350017,000 actually seems like a very reasonable figure to me. If that weight was all in the bed or on a fifth wheel/goose neck hitch that never would have happened. Theres a HUGE amount of leverage factor with that sticking so far off the rear end.Re: RVing in 2022I'm much more concerned with the effect of fuel prices on my small business than I am for travelling. It's really easy to get ticked off when I drive by gas stations and see the price, or the sticker shock when I see the price on the pump after filling up my tank, but for the total cost of a trip I try to keep it in perspective. At 4.50 a gallon a 2000-3000 mile round trip will cost $400-$600 more in fuel than last year. Not chump change by any means, but not enough for me to cancel...yet.Re: Mystery Battery Draw While Parked UPDATERon Ananian the car doctor was once talking about a bad switch on a lighted glove compartment door wouldn't turn the light off when the glove compartment was closed.Re: replacing Brake PadsI agree with FlatBroke. If you have been happy with the performance and longevity of the factory pads then buy the same from the dealer. That's what I did when I changed them on my 2012.Re: Mechanical Mystery...Maybe the seat warmers know its july in Missouri and they shouldnt be working that much?Re: 2019 Dodge Durango with tow package? am I making a mistake? If you can keep the loaded weight of the trailer at 5500 pounds or less You MIGHT be able to do it. 15% is the high end of tongue weight for travel trailers, 12% is probably closer to average. At 15% plus 100lbs for WDH you are at 925. Assuming the 1300 lbs payload is correct that leaves 375lbs for family. Not much, but 100-200 pounds over gvwr is not the end of the world, but never exceed axle and tire ratings. Are you a heavy family? The problem with running so close or slightly over ratings is that you will feel stuck and inflexible with things as simple as one of your kids wants to bring a friend along. One thing to consider is darn near every diesel 2500 towing a fifth wheel down the road is over gvwr and most are severely over, but since it's a "heavy duty" people throw the ratings out the window.Re: Anybody ever buy a truck with a salvage title?I think the biggest concern would be pesky electrical gremlins. My cousin hit a deer with his almost new 2017 f150 and was sure it would be totaled by the amount of damage. Even though the repair bill was huge, it didn't reach a certain percent of the replacement value so it was rebuilt. He was unhappy about it, but added a ford extended warranty and went on down the road. While he still owned the truck it was plagued with quirky but relatively minor electrical problems he assumes was a result of the accident. He subsequently traded it in because he never had the warm fuzzy feeling driving it again. So while the price is tempting, it truly would be a gamble and the upfront savings will be given back when you sell it.
