But the current consumption is only given as 6amp at 220v. Which would be about 1300w.i obviously don't know the iso5151 so I went for the current draw. @wa8yxm thx but it's an indoor unit working with hoses and it's only twice. @the others no I am all the way 220vConsumption dometic freshwellHi I have a dometic freshwell 3000. In cooling mode it's supposed to draw 1kw. We tested it in the shop and measured the current. When the compressor switched on it was about 700-800w. But now when I started it at home it climbed up to 2000w over 20 minutes. I only have a Multiplus 2000. Which can deliver 1600w. Is it possible to limit the current draw? What is the real consumption of the AC? Tried to contact dometic support but they didn't respondRe: Does AC soft start work on any ACSo what's a reasonable WH for a 200aH lifepo4 battery?Re: Does AC soft start work on any ACAbout the ac I am not fixed. Still figuring out what's possible. I just used one which was around. But it won't be the one installed. My calculation was under the assumption to have it cool in the night offgrid. So about 6-7h. But less is ok also. Let's say I have a 1kw AC. The room is about 2*4m. I have 400aH 14.4v-15v. I want the temperature from outside 32c down to 26-27c. So I was assuming that the compressor is on 50-70% of the running time. That would give me 500wh to 700wh. In 7 hours about 3500wh - 4900 wh. My batteries are capable to deliver 5800wh. At least that's my rough calculation. Hope it makes senseRe: Does AC soft start work on any ACIt's more question of space and weight. I only have a small Ford Transit where space is limited. Is there maybe something like a huge capacitor which could deliver enough power to start the AC?Re: Does AC soft start work on any ACI just checked the datasheet of the multi plus. And it claims to have 4kw peak. So you might be right that the bottle neck might be the battery. But this still leaves me withe three options soft starter, inverter booster or an additional batteryRe: Does AC soft start work on any ACI'm using a Chinese build one. The battery is called blue carbon. But with 14.4v and 100a it should be 1400w each. So I really think it's the compressor pulling too much on the start. The soft starter claims to reduce starting amps by up to 70%Re: Does AC soft start work on any ACHonestly I'm not 100? sure if it was 800w it's already a while ago and I didn't need it since. But it was definitely way below the 2kw. My friend told me that the AC could draw up to 3 times the running current when starting the compressor. But yes the battery was charged and the cable is 35sqmm. And about 40cm longRe: Does AC soft start work on any ACI don't think so. But maybe. I have two 200ah lifepo4. They each have a continuous output of 100a. So together they should be capable to deliver 2.4kwDoes AC soft start work on any ACHi I have a 2kw victron energy multiplus inverter. When I tried to start a 800w AC in my van the inverted stopped because it took too much current. A friend recommended me now a soft starter to reduce the start current. To my understanding a soft starter reduces voltage when the compressor startsto reduce current until the compressor runs smoothly. Now I wonder if any AC is capable to start on a reduced voltage? Especially as mine isn't a dedicated RV AC.
