Was this time consuming? We leave soon and was curious what kind of endeavor this is. Thanks for your time!Auxiliary tank pumpMy neighbor has a 2009 Chevy in which they use to pull a camper from pa to Idaho. He has to stop frequently to gas up. He has a tank that holds gas in the bed of the truck and he wishes to pump that gasoline into the pickup truck original gas tank. Anyone know how to properly accomplish this?Water heater going outI have a custom Rv I have been building for several years now. Recently the hot water heater seems to be going out a lot. It will run for a couple miniuts and then go out an need to be lit back to the pilot light and then turned on from there. Today it happend 3 or 4 times in an hours time. Any thoughts?Re: Honda EU3000IS/15kColeman AC?I have a 8,ooo btu and was using my friends eu3000 and several times I thought it was going to stall it out in the middle of the night. The generator was just on the other side of my wall and I remember it making the hesitation/about to stall noise many times. Having said that, it did run my ac and lights most of the time without tripping its breakers. If your going to make a purchase of an eu3000 I would borrow one and try it first. When I was making a purchase the dealer offered to let me bring my rv and try it out first.Re: enclose a generator and still give it sufficent air ?Just spoke with the Honda tech department. He was able to give me some information. The eu6500 draws the air from the front of the generator. As far as the distance from the walls of an enclosure,3 feet on all sides. He also said that people mount the generator on a slide on race trailers and slide it in and out when they are at an event. I told him my two mounting ideas and he said that Honda doesn't recommend these generators being permanently mounted. I questioned him about the generators being bolted to the slides idea and he said that is what Honda recommends. My issue with having it on a slide system is that it will still take up floor space in my rv garage area. I guess one needs to move forward with their own prowess because Honda wont budge to give you information outside of the box. pun intended. The tech from Honda is a nice guy and all but I think their legal dept has a pretty tight muzzle on them.Re: enclose a generator and still give it sufficent air ?I was thinking of constructing a box that was as large as possible and putting rv fridge wall vents in. I'm amazed at how they work. As you can see from the picture put up here for me I had to install two of those vents and the wood inside is never wet from the rain. Do u think that if I had 3 of those vents installed on a box I would still need fans?Re: generator placement thoughts? Thanks for the advice. I haven't put a lot of thought into installing it on the deck of the truck. the air lines exit the truck right there as well so I would have to contend with that. other than that it should work. In the past I have borrowed an eu3000 and we would haul it to the event and then set it up there on the deck and it worked out well. As you mentioned I was nervous about it getting stolen. Obviously lifting generators on a daily basis is something I am trying to eliminate. It gets really old when we all showered for the trip home and left the generator outside running so we could have the air on and then get all sweaty again putting the generator up the ramp on a hot day.Re: generator placement thoughts?I forgot to mention that I have a 2nd generator. Its an engine driven welder/generator. It is powerful enough to power the rv but its louder than it needs to be so I have been considering installing it below the truck sleeper and the eu6500 above the propane bottles pictured. I use the welder generator occasionally at the racing events I attend but the eu is used at every event. what do u guys think?Re: generator placement thoughts? Thanks a lot for posting my pictures for me! Now that everyone can see my rv I hope to hear some more thoughts on where to mount the generator. perhaps seeing the rv will help confirm or give new thoughts.enclose a generator and still give it sufficent air ?Thinking of mounting my EU6500 Honda generator to outside of truck or trailer. Anyone have any ideas on how to enclose it from weather and still give it all the air it needs?
