The kind you tighten with a screwdriver. Why? Because the non-UV rated zip ties deteriorate relatively quickly, whereas the UV rated ones (which come in many colors besides black), last much longer. I used UV rated ties. Picked them up at Consolidated Electric. Is there another reason?Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & Gizmos DE88ROX wrote: Dump the zip ties for some good old fashioned stainless hose clamps. The kind you tighten with a screwdriver. Why?Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosI just did the "sewer hose" modification. I used a 4.75" ABS fence post cut to the same size as the bumper. I painted it black and attached it to the bottom side of the bumper. I didn't want to drill holes in the bumper to use the plumber strapping so I attached it using 6 heavy duty zip ties. I did drill a number of holes in the bottom side of the fence post. Am headed to AZ from NC a week from today. We'll see how the thing holds up.Re: Handy Hints, Gadgets, Products & GizmosHey Popeye, How did you attach the pvc pipe to the TT?Re: MiFi instead of cable or DSL? But, I'm constantly amazed at the increasing availability of 4G, particularly in areas I wouldn't expect. Wifi costs $50 for 5G. I've exceeded it on a few occasions, paying $10 extra in those months. Works very well in the east. Check coverage areas where you travel most often. Wilson is soon coming out with their newer version of the Wilson Sleek, a 4G booster for cell and WiFi devices. Should help in the fringe areas. I also have "dumb" phones and have no desire to go to "smart" phones but do want to pick up a WiFi card...my question is will the WiFi card operate the same as a "Smart" phone from the point of view that a "Smart" phone can be used while in motion...can the WiFi card be used in the same fashion so that the laptop can access the internet and do all the stuff it does when standing still in the CG.Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 cheezy26_81 wrote: Fisherguy wrote: Bit Bucket wrote: I can load the trailer in ways that easily add or subtract about 150 lbs from the tongue weight, which tells you how much beer and other unnecesary *stuff* we carry with us. :B Beer is never unnecessary! :) fisherguy...the unnecessary stuff is the kids, the dog, etc. Kids maybe....but the Beer AND the Dog are absolutely necessaryRe: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012Bit Bucket, very nice generator installation. Never used it or tried it myself. Good Luck and let us know if you do it. Pics are always a good thing. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/shurflo174-24-oz-accumulator-tank.aspx?a=422840 Believe it or not the argument continues for the whole world to see... :R Anyway - I added the accumulator - it works great. I especially like being able to flush the toilet if I forgot to turn on the pump. Here's a pic: Is this the Shurflo model from skippyspad?Re: Cool Mods - Thread restored 10/18/2012 Bit Bucket wrote: SabreCanuck wrote: We used our water pump for the first time since installing an accumulator tank this year.
