All ActivityMost RecentMost LikesSolutionsUsed WW SuperliteLooking into buying my friend's 2004 Weekend Warrior FS2300. He's let us borrow the trailer on numerous occasions so I'm pretty familiar with it. He is he original owner since new and it's had very light usage. Been under a pole barn for most of it's life so the stickers, paint, roof are actually still in good shape. I've looked at a lot of newer trailers and we just love the layout of the FS2300. Plus I know the owner and am already very familiar with the trailer. I've read the WW issues thread and am pretty familiar now with the frame issues. I currently see the following issues: -Tongue is the original 1/8" steel and is bent upwards. I measure about 2" from the box of the trailer to the tongue. It's been that way for quite a long time apparently. -The walls don't appear to have the buldging issue. I need to put a level on them, but they look pretty straight -The generator fires up, but puts out irregular voltage so that will have to be diagnosed. It's only got 200 hours on it. -It looks like it had a leak in the front right corner on the roof. Minor damage to the interior. Does not leak now as I've had it out in the rain without issue. -Otherwise the trailer seems in good shape and everything else works. Is there anything else I should be investigating before buying the trailer? I spoke with RV Doctor down in Lake Elsinore on the frame repairs could range anywhere from $1500 to $4000 depending on how much damage. What would be a fair price? Looking at NADA its in the $5-7k range, however looking at RV trader and other online places these appear to be going more in the $8-9k range. Crazy as I think he paid $16k for it brand new. I'm thinking of offering him $5k, figuring on spending $3k in repairs basically getting it for the price of the ones online. Thoughts?Re: WW RepairsInteresting! That would definitely be a LOT easier. I assume you ran the 2x2 tubing back as far as possible to the rear? If I could figure out a way to bend the tongue back straight we could probably do that. A guy here at work does custom 4x4 chassis work on the side, he might have some ideas. The spring hanger bracket I've seen photos of earlier in the thread, that looks super simple. I thought there was additional outriggers for the wall and other reinforcement required or just the spring hanger reinforcements? Mine is the short 2300 version, so maybe that was on the larger ones?Re: WW RepairsTalked to SoCalRV. They estimated around $1500 for the tongue repairs and around $2500-3000 for the other frame upgrades, depending on the year (I guess the frames did change throughout the years). Not firm numbers as they would have to assess the trailer in person. They are a 6hr drive from here. At this point got to wonder about the benefit of investing $5k into the trailer. According to NADA it's only worth around $7-8k, but Toy Haulers in this vintage typically go for around $10k on Craigslist.Re: WW RepairsReviving the old thread. I've read all 57 pages (over multiple sittings!) and saw everything about reinforcing the frame on the Superlite models. Back in 2008 everyone had access to the Class Action Suit documents which I guess detailed the repairs necessary. I've been searching for these documents without much luck. Did anyone happen to save the frame reinforcement diagrams? This is for a 2004 FS2300 that has a bent tongue. I measured about 2" of rise from the front of the trailer box to the ball hitch. Yes, it still has the 1/8" 2x4 square tubing. Also looking to do the other frame reinforcement. Fortunately the trailer doeesn't seem to be exhibiting any of the other issues besides the bent tongue. I'm hoping to line up some local skilled fabricators to perform the repairs, and having the drawings would be a big help! Thank you! -Dave
