I then use a Saris two bike bike rack. It also has a built in anti rattle tensioner that actually works. I bought this bike rack to haul bikes in all conditions and putting on the RV came second. Don't buy racks that hang bikes. Don't buy racks that grab the frame or require straps of any kind. To the best of my knowledge all mainstream non RV related bike racks have a disclaimer about using them on an RV. It's to cover their asses. Our bikes don't bounce even on the roughest roads. Your results may vary.Re: Two Sewer Outlets? We have two bathrooms and two black tanks. The front dump is Black, gray, and galley. The rear dump is a black gray mix from the rear bathroom. It sucks, but it comes with the two bathroom territory.Re: Spare tireI haven't since we picked it up a couple years ago. Thanks for the reminder. I know better.Re: Red Propane Regulator - Why? Mile High wrote: They are cheap regulators, and are a hazard greater than what they are trying to overcome - 2 of mine have leaked. I just remove them altogether. I had this same thing happen in our Forest River Sierra. I went to a local RV parts place that's been around since they created dirt, and they said the same thing. Get rid of it. It's more dangerous then not having it. Never noticed a difference in operation. Your results may vary.Re: RV anti-freezeI blow my lines out with compressed air and only use the pink stuff for P traps. I can be winterized in under 20 minutes including draining the water heater. With this method we can use the trailer in minutes in the cold months if needed or wanted without any hassle. Personally never been a fan of filling my whole camper full of anti freeze. To answer the question already answered, yes you can mix all the rv anitfreezes.Re: Andersen HitchSo much non sense on this board. I can only take it in small doses. I've used both the Andersen gooseneck adapter and the B&W companion with zero problems and no failures nor do I ever expect there to be. I'll let you know when my 12k pound trailer falls off and kills a school bus full of kids.Re: External Speakers, do you really want them ?You speak some excellent words D&M. My comment to respect others with my outside speakers was merely based on my common sense of what's too loud for others. Even if that means walking away from my camper over to the next site to have a listen for myself. Wouldn't want someone to be irritated by some crazy heavy metal music. ;) I must say I am of the type that enjoys my self when I go RVing and am not the crochety old man.Re: External Speakers, do you really want them ?Not pointing fingers at anyone, but every time I enter a thread like this, I can only think some of you people must live some pretty miserable lives. Respecting others maybe a lost art in this country but I still do my best to not annoy anyone else. I use my outside speakers every where we go and have never had a complaint and likely never will. Oh, and as of now, they don't leak. :)Re: Brake Controller Setting HelpThis is a story that hits close to home. Factory Ford Tow Command. 2012 36 foot long Heartland trailer 12k pounds. Every since we bought it the brakes continued to get worse and worse. Not better. I finally did some investigating only to find out the factory grease seals had failed and contaminated all the magnets. Much to my luck, the shoes were for all intents spared by grease contamination. Cleaned all that up thoroughly and replaced the seals with double lips and also repacked the bearings. I also don't think the factory or dealer ever adjusted the brakes. I averaged almost 30 clicks of the star wheel adjuster amongst the four wheel to get the shoes to contact the drums. One other thing I noticed was a huge voltage loss from the pin box to the magnets (showing 8 volts at the magnets). I ended up rewiring the axles so I had 12 gauge wires running all the way to the magnets. This gained me an additional 1.5 volts at the magnets. All this said and done, I still have my gain set to 9.5. It will not lock the brakes up hot or cold. Haven't tried gravel. The brakes are better than ever since new but I was hoping for more. I'm going to continue burnishing them in before I give up on them. It's uncomfortable driving in traffic and having to worry about panic brake stops. I've towed other smaller trailers with this truck, and have locked the brakes up easily because I forgot to turn the gain back down from Heartland gain. I would really like to install disc brakes on the trailer, but holy moly that's an expensive proposition.Re: WOW MPG just checked52 mph? You'll get run over by old ladies driving semi trucks around here doing that. ;)
